I know I could get a wireless router but I wouldnt know how to set it up so I thought having it though NTL they would do it for meThanx

ntl charge £100 for the router, usb stick an cd.
basically the whole package for £100 BUT if you buy the parts seperatly you can get them much cheaper0 -
Yes thanx I'm probably better off just getting the parts myself and trying to find someone to set it up for me. The local shop was extortionet for parts and installationThanx

I had been on the £17.99 package for a few months when one of my neighbours got connected to NTL broadband for £12.99.
I asked NTL to go on the same deal but they said it was only for new customers. After waiting 20 minutes or so to get connected to customer services, and threating to leave unless I was given the same deal, they offered me the same package for £9.99. I also pay for my parents broadband so a couple of days later I asked for that account to be switched to the £9.99 deal, which they did - or so I thought!
A few months later I noticed that the second account was still being charged £17.99. I phoned NTL and they said they had no record of that being switched even though I took the persons name, time and date of the call. I have now been assured that both accounts are being charged £9.99 per month but they would not backdate the second one because they said it is not company policy. Hence my post.0 -
i have the telephone and tv package under one ntl account number and broadband under another ntl account number. the 9.99 offer on broadband finishes this month. when talking to retentions dept for a better deal shall i ask for deals seperately or for the combined services?Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems
Well at least i learn something on the way

Contract just expired with NTL for phone and internet. It was due to go up to £28.50 in total. Without any trouble they were happy for me to continue on my current basis of £10.50 for phone and £9.99 for 1mb internet. What is more, they said that there will be a free upgrade to 2mb within 3 months that they are rolling out. He said that if we don't get that upgrade within 3 months, we will be given 4mb free of charge. Sounds good to me!0

If you get your DH to ring Telewest and quote a password which you can use when you ring, they will deal with you. I negotiated a better package but account in my OH's name. There is always light within the dark0 -
I phoned the customer relations department in early June to try to get a better deal. I was on the 1 meg BB for £17.99 a month. I told them that I didn't think that was competitive anymore. I said I leaving them for talk talk. They offered me half price 1 meg BB or the 10 meg for £10 a month. Needless to say I took up the 10 meg offer. Guess what though. 6 weeks down the line I get a DD notice saying they will take £35 out of my account. Annoyingly I was on holiday in Cyprus. Emailed them saying that I needed correspondence by email. Nothing. Back in the country now and feel the need to shout at someone !!!! Took the representatives name and extension number so should have something in my armoury when I contact them. I think I will request something in writing this time !0
