    I'm also finding it hard to get a decent deal - only really want them to match TalkTalk like in previous years.

    Worth a few more tries though - any idea of the best time to call? I keep getting through to staff who lie about the Talktalk service being really crap and who pretend Virgin is better than it really is.

    Talktalk is crap, especially their broadband, and TT lie about how 'free' their broadband really is.

    Apparently the weekend is the best time but perhaps after lunch so they are on a full stomach.

    Virgin is much better. It'd take a lot to make me go back to ASDL now.

    Well obviously the internet service is better, but on paper it is pretty similar at least, and Virgin does have crap upload speeds.

    Additionally i need free phone calls and talktalk do calls to 35 countries as well, so their phone offering is vastly superior.

    thanks for the advice about the best time to call.

    hi
    Current Bill:
    Line Rental £11
    TV XL £20.50
    BB XL £37
    Talk Eve & Weekend £3.45
    Callwaiting £1.75
    Loyalty Pack -£24.95
    + calls & VAT

    How much do you think they will charge me if I drop the TV completely?
    I have been a customer for 8 years.

    Thanks for any input.

    I noticed VM are giving free wireless routers to new customers, whats the chance of existing customers getting one.

    I have been with them since 1998 on BB, TV and Phone

    anyone managed to get one if so what did you say to get one.

    as my current one is old and only 802.11b and dont want to spend on a new one.
  • My first post but thought i;d share this. Seems that VM has been getting 'tight' as of late, but today noticed that for broadband only, they are offering deals for the first 12months(for new customers)....

    M = £9
    L = £16
    XL = £26

    Have tried to get these prices for me as been with them for 5yrs (BB only), but they are sticking to their guns (maybe its pot luck, but i used to like haggling with them, but now they don't budge).

    Has anyone else noticed that they treat existing customers badly? I'll try again today later on but, has anyone else got these deals on BB only?

    i have the same issue as Wookie_the_cookie, although VM told me that £26 for XL broadband is only applicable if you take phone as well, otherwise it is £37. I tried to haggle and they did couldnt offer any reduction on my broadband price. I also gave them a month's notice and they were happy to accept that.

    That's interesting, I'm with Virgin Media for all my services. I pay £25 a month for broadband (but that is the L service), and £11 a month for phone line rental (i.e. £36, a pound less than the £37 you state); I also pay £20.50 a month for TV.

    So Lucky2008 is getting the XL broadband for £1 more than I'm paying.
