I got my BB only package decreased simply by saying my friend was paying less. They tried to sell extra packaged services which I declined.0

Hi
I dont know if anyone can give me some advice regarding my current service charges with Virgin Media
I am currently paying £90 for the following services:
TV XL & V+ Box
Talk Unlimited phone line
20MB Broadband
I want to downgrade to 2MB of Broadband as I dont download much and also downgrade to Talk weekends as I hardly ever ring local numbers.
However I am looking at keeping the V+ box and XL TV package!!
Im looking at bringing my service charges down to around £40 - £50 a month.
Can anyone recommend a package I can ask for?!
I am out of contract by the way and I am on the extra large package!
Any advice would be good.
Thanks in advance:DDELETE ACCOUNT.

I currently have Virginmedia's L broadband package at £25 per month. I have been with them for 4 years.
Current offer to new customers is £16 per month. After the introductory period £24 per month. Plus they also get a free wireless router.
Why have Virginmedia not reduced the charge to existing customers to £24 per month?0 -

Its only £24 if you have online billing as you get a £1 online billing discount. Otherwise you would pay £25 for paper bills. Therefore if you sign up for online billing you will get a £1 discount and only pay £24 per month.0 -
We are on
TV XL
BB M
Phone XL
V+
Extra box
Movies and sports
£55.90
Originally we were on BB L but going down to M has saved us £15.50 a month.
When i rang i just said i needed to lower my bill and was given this offer straight away.0 -
I was originally on:
L - 4mb interweb
M - Free Tv
M - Phone
for the standard price. (just over 12months)
Back in November I rang hope to get the XL for M price that they were offering new customers. I got through to retentions and managed to get the above plus XL broadband for £27 a month.
At the time I had to sign up for a new 12 month contract which I was happy to do considering the saving.
After three months the discount disappeared so I rang them up and the excuse was that the offer wasn't valid and they would reapply it.
The offer was on for one month before it then disappeared again so I rang once more. This time I was told that I couldn't get that offer anymore.
What I want to know is if I am still under this new 12 month contract as I was told the offer would be for 12 months but only lasted about four, and if not could someone give me some advise on how I can cancel it if they kick up a fuss saying I'm still under the contract?
If I do have to stay with them till November what's the best deal someone has got with the XL broadband and free tv?
Thanks and sorry for the long post.0 -
Virgin customer services is in an absolute shambles at the moment and good luck to anyone who rings them ....you gonna need it.
I have spoken to staff who are unaware of the current offers, and denied the £9/month for bb m existed for new customers.
I was ammused to hear the csr read me my account notes about my previous call.
The csr had said and written down my request for the offer could not be met as the offer did not exist.
A retentions supervisor had intercepted my account upon a cancellation....and wrote...."What you on about, the offer is there, sort it out."
I have had quite an insight to Virgin these last 4 weeks.....so much so they have offered me £30 credit to account, ie 3months free bb m for all the hassle , they caused.0 -
I phoned VM on monday, as my TV Package had gone up £1.50 and my discount down £1. After moan how how couldnt see how this was fair, she offered me... BBM, TVXL, PhoneXL, Sky Sports Collection for £49. (Been paying £59.)
Phoned them today regarding a V+ Box, and the bloke said its £75. I thought not to bad, then I asked about moving the other box upstairs and he said that would cost me another £75 so I questioned this. Saying "So the V+ Box is free, and I'mpaying £75 for an engineer to swap a few cables from one box to another!!"
He said "YES", but wouldnt say if the instatalion was just a wire change!
What do they do when installing the V+ Box?Awaiting first win!!0 -
phoned them the other day to ask if they would honor the £9 BB for new customers on my account as I had been with them for about 4 yeas and they said that as I only took BB with them, it would be no!!!
I want to stay with them as their BB service is great but at £18 per month it's pretty steep!0 -
After reading lots of posts on here i thought i'd give VM a call to see what they can do for us (as we've just had a baby money is quite tight to say the least)
We have: pasted from my online bill:
Telephone Line Rental22 June - 21 July£11.00
Talk Evening And Weekends22 June - 21 July£3.45
Loyalty Pack B B, Phone TV 3 D Sky22 June - 21 July£-25.45
TV Size: X L22 June - 21 July£22.00
Broadband Size: L22 June - 21 July£25.00
E Bill Discount22 June£-1.00
So £35 per month plus phone charges.
Phoned up and they said there's nothing they can do! - does what i am getting all ready sound cheap? or is a move to another provider likely to save me a bit of money?0
