Hi folks,
Good info here :-)
Quick question, how can you tell if they will be upgrading the speeds in your area ?? (2>4,4>10 etc)
Looking to get BB put into my sons flat at college and want to try and keep the cost down !!
He wants BB XL but if the M is going to 10mb then the package with the phone sounds good for £27.
If he can get 2 (going to 4mb soon??) for £15.50 then thats even better. Is there anything that says the phone has to been used a certain amount (cant see anything in the small print) as he doesnt want a phone so may just unplug it from the cable box. (I'm assuming the phone service runs through the cable box??)
many thanks

Hi,
I've paying £10 for 2m broadband for 12 months, but this month VM increased my bill back to £18.
I'm planning to phone VM and threaten to leave, what deal shall I ask for?
Would they offer me 4M bb for £10?
Thanks for your advice in advance.0 -

Hi everyone.
I am in the last month of a Virgin contract. I have been a customer for over 5 years and I threatened to leave over what I thought were genuine issues, ie serving ads via dodgy phorm company, appauling support etc and told them if they wanted to keep me they had better give me a good deal. I was paying £44 a month and didnt realise until recently because it because it came in two DDs. A better deal with more channels was available from sky, for a tenner less.
I told them that they would really really have to work to keep my custom and they offered me the following deal foe £35 per month.
Phoneline
Free Evening and weekend calls to national numbers
10MB/s broadband, uncapped.
XL Tv package
V+ box for £75 install
Is this a reasonable deal this days?
Cheers

I have no idea whether thats reasonable, no doubt someone with superior knowledge will be along soon, but I would definitely ask for the installation free if I was you, you never know till you ask, right?MFW Start Sep 07 £79484, Now £587740

Ask them for free install on the V+ box as i'm sure i read on D:S that this is going to be the price(£75) now anyway?
I got my V+ box free but that was when we lost the Sky channels a year ago. Also bear in mind i think they are doing 10mb BB as standard now or soon anyway:)Darren0 -
I called Virgin this morning as was paying £18.00 per month for 2meg Broadband and have been a customer for over 9 years.
I managed to get it down to £8.50 per month for 4 meg broadband which is rising to 10meg in the summer once their cables have been upgraded so quite happy.

Hi, I have rang before and got a reduction. But just noticed on my last bill that I'm now paying £61 for telephone and 20mb BB. The only thing I get with the phone is evenings and weekends.
Also I have read that with the phone line I could have a free box offering me the basic channels. I have asked before about this box and was told I would have to pay an installation fee and yet I have read somewhere they can send the boxes to you to set up yourself along with a simple guide.
What's the best deal I could hope for if I rang? Not too good at haggling. I have been with NTL/Virgin for over 8/9 years. Do they reward loyalty?
What deals should I compare to to get the best deal for myself, and should I pay for installation of a box or ask for it for free?
Oh one more thing, what's the number I have to ring?
thanks for your patience.0
