when i was talking to retentions the lady mentioned that if i had recently paid for the v+ box they would possibly be abe to refund the charge as sky were giving theirs away for free. So if you have paid for it in the lsat few months it might beworth ringing up and trying to get the money back.
Hope this helps for someone0 -

Ring them up and tell them you want to leave. They will put you through to their disconnections team. Tell them what you could get it for off Sky.
I got £20 discount off my current package which is similar to yours.Money SPENDING Expert0 -
Phoned to retentions yestreday. Very quick. Asked outright what deal they could do for Broadband M (2Mb) which is currently being billed at £18 a month and straight away offered £10/month for six months.
Pretty much the same for me, but instead of "straight away" I had to bat away their offer of a phone line/TV first (which would work out dearer regardless of what they were saying).
However much I hate VM (not sure why, I just do), their 2MB broadband (previously 1MB and 512KB before that) has been faultless for me, now the price is even better.0 -
I get
Telephone Line Rental £11.00
Talk Unlimited £7.95
Loyally Pack - £22.50
Call Reject £2.50
Itemised Billing £1.00
Free Voicemail £0.00
TV Size xl £20.50
Addition V+ Box £15.00
Add Set Box(es) Disc - £15.00
Sky sports 1 & 2 £18.00
Broadband size M £18.00
I paid £150 for 2 v+ boxes, ie £75 each. And of course I get Setanta FOC...
I was paying sky £38 for SS package plus £10 for Multi room and £9.99 for Setanta. Therefore I am really getting my Telephone and Internet for free.
Anyone beat £56.45 ? :Tnothing.0 -

I want the XL TV with sports but the movies are not essential
Broadband is needed and 4mb is ok but quicker would be better
Just had an email to say they are in the process of upping the 4MegBB to 10Meg, progressively, so it depends where you live as to when it happens.

Re the phone you could try to get rid of it or use the Virgin Mobile £10 offer as a bargaining tool/ trade off.
For £10 you get 300 mins +300 texts per month as sim only or a phone which you could get/sell ( eg Sony W610 £110 in Tesco) with 100 mins + 100 texts, I got that on the 3 for £30 BB-phone and mob ( no tv)ac's lovechild0 -

Hi, can anyone help me please?
When I signed up with Telewest 2 years ago, I got an offer of £14.99 for 3 months for 2MB Broadband which I would recieve the money for at the end of my contract. As Virgin took over the same time my contract ended, I never got this money back.
Now last month I had my direct debit returned due to insufficient funds. When I called up to pay with my card, I was told that a £10 chare would be added to my next bill. I have just received my bill and they have added £15!! When I phoned them last night the unhelpful lady told me that when my direct debit returned, they automatically cancelled it & so Ive been charged an extra £5 for paying by bank giro. I asked her why I wasn't informed of this when I previously called to pay with my card. She said she doesn't know & basically there is nothing they can do. I have to pay the bill & call up after to set up my direct debit. So for 2MB broadband, for which I normally pay £18, Im paying £33 this month!
I'm really not happy with this. I would leave Virgin if I could but I don't have a phone line & Virgin is the only broadband supplier which doesn't require one.
Does anyone have any advice please? I only have broadband with virgin, no phone or tv.0
