I was on this last year, and when I rang to renew it they claimed it had all gone through ok. Then I noticed they had taken 37.50 out of my account...
I rang them and they reapplied the discount and claimed that they would credit my account with the 18.50 that was charged. This was in nov.
Nov 27th they then took 55.50 from my account - they appeared to have added a negative discount so had charged me extra! More complaining and in Dec they took 12.53 (a value they have completely failed to explain to me) and then in Jan they finally took a correct 18.50.
Just spent 40 mins on the phone to them again. They can't explain the 12.53 charge (they claim I was in credit - yet they direct debited it from my account!) and when she offered to renew my 3 months at 18.50 she went away and finally came back saying she couldn't do that but that I was now on 6 month deal at £9.25 a month discount so "it's half the discount but twice as long so the same amount yes you see?"
No, I didn't see and after another ten mins she claims to have given me another 3 months at 18.50 for the 20Mbit service. They also claim to be sending me a paper statement explaining the odd billing. I'll believe it when I see it.
I also have a TV service from them for 2 quid a month (L I think) which we hardly use as we have sky - it's mainly for the odd thing to watch in the bedroom and for 2 quid I'm happy with that).
This is all getting hugely annoying and I'm sooooo close to moving elsewhere.0 -

It is hard work staying with Virgin, but I think its worth the hastle so that I don't have to have a landline or pay any money to BT.
I emailed them using this recently http://help2.virginmedia.com/assets/html/customer_feedback/customer_feedback_querytype_1.html after someone recommended it.
It took a few days for them to reply, we are in credit also and got a fairly good response, will just have to wait and see how much they take this month to see if they have actually done what they said they will.0 -

Ah, handy. I like the extensive range of "I'd like to..." options
I'll see what turns up in this statement they promised and will see if it makes any sense at all. If not I'll try that web form (can't be any more painful that wrestling with the indian call centre)

Just wondering if i could get some advice on what sort of discount i should expect from my current bill:
Movies and Sky sports - £25
TV size XL - £20.50
Broadband size M - £18
4 Additional boxes -£60
Telephone line rental - £11
4p plan -£0
Fully Itemised billing - £1
Total : £135.50
As you can imagine its alot of money to spend each month, so we are looking at probably losing some channels/boxes aswell as getting a discount.
Thanks0 -

Crazy
VIP gives you all XLs, V+ and 1 extra box. Rumour has it they give additional boxes above that at £5 each. So if they let you keep 4 it'd be £100 in theory.0 -
Anyone on VIP - i was thinking of upgrading broadband to XL, i have been on
Telephone line rental - £11
TV XL - £20.50
Broadband L - £25
Extra set top box - £15
My average bill is £70-£75 so £85 with V+ & Movie channels seems a good option ???

VIRGIN MEDIA Broadband technical support
- All phone lines: 0906 212 1111*
- *Calls are charged at 25p per minute. There is a 10p connection fee from Virgin Media landlines. Charges from mobiles and other networks may vary.
AND if you ever talk to them never, ever, ever, ever suggest you have a home network. They will not help you. They will say the fault lies with your home network.
If you have a fault but can still log on to their router - (the box that sits in your house connected to cable) - there is (more than likely) nothing wrong with your internal network:think:0 -

A good thing to do, and to save you valuable money ringing their support, is to plug one computer directly into the modem and test your connection that way. If you still have problems, then ring their number whilst connected like this - that way you've got the home network situation covered.0 -
Phoned to retentions yestreday. Very quick. Asked outright what deal they could do for Broadband M (2Mb) which is currently being billed at £18 a month and straight away offered £10/month for six months. All sorted and took about 60 seconds.
