Many months we have had the wrong amount taken from our account and on two of those occasions it made us overdrawn with £30 bank charges. A phone call has resulted in them putting these things right, but why should we have to sort out these problems every single month? Anyway I figured enough was enough last month and I cancelled my Direct Debit with them and just pay them over the phone using a debit card. That way if the bill is bigger than it should be, we just pay the amount we should be paying them and they can whistle for the rest.0 -

Movies and Sky sports - £25
TV size XL - £20.50
Broadband size M - £18
4 Additional boxes -£60
Telephone line rental - £11
4p plan -£0
Fully Itemised billing - £1
Total : £135.50
As you can imagine its alot of money to spend each month, so we are looking at probably losing some channels/boxes aswell as getting a discount.
Thanks
Will see what i can get tommorow when i phone. Anyone know more about the VIP package, it includes a mobile deal which i wouldn't want doesn't it?
Also anyone know the direct number for retentions if i call from a BT line?
Thanks0 -
I am looking to try and get a V+ box from virgin and was wondering if anyone had an idea of what I might have to pay each month. I'm gonna give virgin a call but don't want them to rip me off.
I am currently on
phone - talk weekends
tv - XL
broadband - M
all for £26 per month.
Any help would be appreciated!0 -
Hi
If you are already on the xl package, there is no extra monthly charge for a v+ box, you would only pay for installation. Which i think is £75 just now (usually £150).0 -
I don't know how this compares to others (haven't read through ALL 91 pages!) but I was dissatisfied with paying what seemed over the odds with Virgin, so told them I was actively looking to change my provider. They offered M broadband, local & national calls, XL television and a free mobile with 300 xnetwork txts and 300 anytime minutes, all for £42.45. I have to pay for 0870 etc numbers of course but go to saynoto0870 first and usually find what I need. The contract is for 12 months which isn't a bother as I was paying at least 50% more than this before, some months 100% more. The greatest benefit of course is not having phone/mobile bills every month. I'd be interested to know if others have got the same package cheaper, because if so I'll go back and haggle a bit more!0

me/ virginmedia
telephone rental £11.00
Talk unlimited 7.95
Broadband M 18.00
TV M 0.00
I thought I'd done ok negotiating the free TV in a package of £36.95
I read your posts a couple of weeks ago now and I thought..no way.....I wouldn't have such luck. So I phoned them but got the sales dept and they wouldn't budge.......
Came back on here tonight and decided to phone them again......
Got a great adviser in retentions and she almost thanked me for calling her and telling her that other companies were cheaper etc and of course she could offer me a cheaper package. She proceeded to tell me that it was not for new customers but only existing customers and that if I accepted it, it would never go up but remain the same indefinately.......I couldn't beleive it, she reduced the price to £19.95 per month..
Yes I waited on free phone 150 for 20 minutes but she only took 5 minutes to reduce it for me.....
Go for it everyone..made my day..:j0 -
dial 150 from your virgin landline (freefone)
select disconnections/retentions
could wait 20 mins or so
start negotiating and you should be lucky.0 -
I can't believe it, I phoned up and I have XL TV, M broadband and L (free evening and weekend calls) and pay £34.95 (or similar)and I am not in a contract with them and they couldn't do it cheaper. I called 150 and said I wanted to leave.
Not even if I went on a contract! I may cancel and sign up again through quidco! Miserable so and so's. I have been getting hammered on call charges too as have had to use it during the day in the last few weeks.
Am trying again in the morning...Green and minimal chemicals is the new black- I know a fair old bit about sustainability, specially energy and transport stuff. If I can help- please ask!0 -

I have to say although virgin has gone downhill the price you are on is reasonable. If you are trying to get it lower than I think you are being a tad bit pushy0
