Just thought I'd share-phoned Virgin on 150 to see if I could get a discount/reduction on current monthly bill , I'm paying £41pm for 2mb BB, telly and landline and the man said he could give me an immediate discount of £10.50 for exactly the same package!

All done in 5 mins.

I'm on just 20mb bb @ £37 per month. I was told they can not apply any discounts anymore unless you are on more than one service.

Anyone else had this problem?

No but on their website they;re cyrrently offering 20Mb Broadband plus the Phone M package for £31. Would it be worth asking if you could have that deal if you took the phone as well?

Has anyone managed to get V+ box free install (instead of £75) as a price match to Sky+ offer?

Yesterday we managed to cut our broadband from £18 down to £4.50 for a year!!!

As a Virgin Media/Telewest customer we have been paying £11.00 line rental and a whopping £18.00 per month for (M) package Broadband

Yesterday we got a Virgin Media flyer through door stating that new custumers can get 2MB broadband for £4.50 for a year then rising to their standard rate of £9.

We rang customer services to see why we were paying twice as much and they said that as an existing customer that we too could get the £4.50 deal.

Customer services said that ALL their offers are open to new and existing customers - as long as you lock in for a year!

We now have save £13.50 a month for a year :j

This offer of £11.50 phone line and £4.50 for BB has been around for a good 6 months! This only applies if you want their phone service, so you're title is a bit misleading.

I recieved my phonebill today and was furious its constantly rising, with only £7.67 (inc vat) call charges my bills are £70 +. :mad:
After checking my bill I saw Im paying £29 for only phone & BB.:mad: :mad:
Lucky for me before I phoned them I searched the forum and saw ur thread I didnt realise I could get BB for £4.50!!!!
I have phoned them was given other offers ranging from £20 - £30 which I were nt interested in so I mentioned the offer and flyer and was told it was a mailing error and doesnt apply to exsisting customers :mad: :mad::mad: I explained I should cancel then and asked for the cancellations number 0800 052 0870.
I phoned and was given the run about for a while but remain steadfast demanding BB for £4.50.
After more to- ing and fro-ing I was sucessful!!! Yippee slashing my £29 pm
to £15.50pm.
Still got to make a dent in the other £40 of charges but great start

Just letting you all know - I was on the 2Mb and phone M package for 20 quid a month for the past year. Bill arrived this morning moving up to 29 a month for both. I just called 150 and Disconnections, and the call was answered straightaway. The nice lady on the other end said it wouldn't be a problem to pay 20 for both, she could do that immediately.

I asked if I could move up to BB size L and pay the "new customer" price of 22.50, no problem again (although I'd need to sign up for another 12 months, which isn't a problem, I think their BB is pretty good). All done in 5 minutes.

Don't know if it's been said before, but as well as the 4Mb -> 10Mb upgrade, the 2Mb is also upgrading to 4Mb over the next few months. Grand!

Many thanks to all of you who posted tales of your success with Virgin Media.

I pay £64.50 a month for line rental, itemised bill, XL TV, 1 additional set top box and 2 meg broadband. Rang cancellations today and advised I was considering leaving for a better deal and queried what they had to offer to change my mind. There was no queue, chap was friendly, helpful and ran me through a few options. Bill was slashed without any haggling whatsoever to £40.50 with a loyal customer rebate of £20.83! I didn't even have too mention Talk Talk! This was based on a 12 month contract, with payments remaining at this level indefinately beyond this.

Time taken...less than 5 minutes.

I'd been putting it off thinking I'd have to know and demonstrate my knowledge of every other competitor to get the best deal, but this proved not to be the case.

So go on...give it a try...it's freephone so you have nothing to lose and everything to gain!
