Im afriad I agree. Im on the same plan and pay the same. That is their retention plan with me.

    With BT/Sky you would pay:
    £11.50 line rental
    £25 at least for services.

So on a par with that -and get more channels (setanta for example).
Being bored is so boring Im bored of it... :rotfl:
  • Since April 2007 I have had Virgin XL TV + Phone for £20. I have now received a letter saying I have been undercharged and they would rectify the matter but would not charge me for the extra costs!!!!!!!!!!

I rang to say the £20 was correct as agreed in April 2007. I was told if I wanted to keep XL package plus phone (which I do not use) would cost £29. No mention of cancelling phone. I said this was unacceptable as I could get more channels on Sky for £20 so i was put through to Disconnections and spoke to Oliver.

I explained I needed AOL so needed to stay with BT (nor could I go to TalkTalk as I can't then use 18185), I was told I could cancel the phone (which was news to me). I was offered the XL package for £20 for 12 months and then £25. If that happens I will go down to M package or will go to Sky but don't want the upheaval of routing their cable to where the TV is located.
  • Hi,

Ive just been speaking to retentions and they have offered me

XL TV with all sports and movies
    V+ box
    Extra set in the bedroom
    4mb broadband
home phone with free evening and weekends

This was for £66 which still seems a bit steep to me.

I want the XL TV with sports but the movies are not essential
Broadband is needed and 4mb is ok but quicker would be better
want to keep the extra set in the bedroom and the V+ box is essential.

what should I be looking at paying for my requirements??

An suggestions would be grately appreciated

I dont think thats that bad! I pay £35 for the same phone,tv and BB excluding sports movies, Vbox and extra box. So for £30 you are getting all those extras. Not bad IMHO. Sky would be more...

Yes I also think it s fair price especially with sky sports/movies

    I have:
    B/B M
    TV XL
    Talk unlimited
    V+ box
    1 additional Box (normal)
    Caller reject/caller display

    ann I pay £43.70

Babbler got a much better than me as he is on L BB.... But hey it's the luck of the draw..
  • thanks for the responses I guess its not that bad afterall! I think I might ring them back and accept the ofer then unless anyone can tell me they got a better deal!

If anyone knows a way of getting a good deal without the phone line that would be even better as I never use the home phone

With Sky doing the "Free Sky+ Box for new cusrtomers", has anyone tried to ring Virgin and try and get them to match it (even though you are an existing customer)?

I.e. say you are thinking of leaving for the sky offer and see if they would give you V+ for free?

I gave virign £100 for my V+ box so that I didn't have to pay the £10 monthly fee. It has now been over 10 month so from now on I have the V+ box for free.
