Virgin Media Retention thread

I already have the phone and free tv from Virgin.
When asking about internet, they said I could get 20MB broadband + an upgraded phone package for £30.95/month until my contract runs out next march.
It works out about £3 moren than we used to pay with BT, but the BT internet service was rubbish.0 -
I guess the moral of the story with Virgin is, DO NOT PAY BY DIRECT DEBIT. It seems their customer service and organisational skills are worse than those very dark days when NTL first started up.Instigated terrorism the road to dictatorship.0

I love Virgin, cant stand BT. With Virgin if they make any mistakes money wise they allways take it off your bill next month0 -

I'd never be cynical enough to suggest they do this accidentally on purpose so they can cream an extra months interest from money they shouldn't have, then give it you back.Instigated terrorism the road to dictatorship.0 -
Hi, im a new member on here
I'm an old customer of NTL 'Virgin Media', and I recieve a telephone line(talk24) and broadband(10MB) to cut a long story short i rang up retention department today and asked for a better deal, which would put a smile on my face and make me stay with VM. Their response was £44.70 with 20MB Broadband and Talk unlimited 24 along with call barring, mobile saver and i think it was also international calls, which is tied up with a 12 month contract.
Now is that worth it? I honestly think its not.0 -

I rang tonight to try one last time to get a half decent deal but it was saying 30 min wait on phone since about 4 30pm I tried on and off till about 6pm still 30 min wait then again at again at 7pm then it was saying exceptionally busy you might want to ring another time bye then hung up. I tried up untill 7.45pm still same.
I wonder why they are so busy on retentions line are people leaving or getting deals. I hope they are leaving.
I'm giving it one last try tomorrow. I rang bt today I do have an original bt line and I'm thinking of taking the phone over and reinstating my sky but holding onto the broadband till I'm settled with the others then take that over too. I've been with ntl since it first came to our street years ago. The customer service people I spoke to earlier today tha gave me a pathetic deal were really quite arrogant and seemed to enjoy not giving customers what they want and the first lady lied to me to try and get me to pay more money, that I really took offence to and I feel I cannot trust the company anymoreThanx

I phoned yesterday and waited 30 minutes for retentions. Forgot to dial 150 as well and was using the 0845 number.
There is another thread on Virgin deals elsewhere on this site. As I said on that I wonder if Virgin are toughening up now on what they will offer. When they first took over there was a lot of bad publicity for them re loss of Sky so they had to try hard but as time goes on???
I have only been offered the deals on their website (twice) - perhaps I'm just too soft!!!!!!!0 -
Oh dear, I now want to downgrade something I agreed to yesterday and pay less. It seems I have to wait to speak to the salesman who sold me the package as it will affect his commission. What's the betting it's 'not going to be worthwhile me downgrading'?!!!!0

Just phoned up as I noticed from my bill that my talk unlimited offer had expired. There was a 15 minutes wait listening to that awful music.
With Sky having gone I downsized my TV to the free view so have now got TV-M with phone and talk unlimited plus 60% discount on calling mobiles
Broadband size M that's the 2 meg which I have always found to be fast enough for my purposes. That's for £19.95 per month"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."
