Hi everyone,
I was just asked to check my parents telewest bill and found they were paying an excessive amount -
Tel line rental
Talk unlimited
sports 2 package (Skymovie 1,2 Sports 1)
Broadband L
TV XL
1 additional Vbox
Total £104.95!!
I have just rang the chap to get a better deal and was offered 3 packages
1 - All the above 2BB rather than the 4 previous £66.95
2 - VIP deal - Talk +, 10BB, and original £85
3 - As original but no contract £78.45
Edit: I was also offered 2 x Vbox for £10 extra per month or £150 up front.
Surely they can do better cant they?
I was told not.0 -

I would aim for £40-£50 off standard cost, but they may have tightened up on deals they are giving.

ok cheers for that will try tomorrow - maybe
Optimist did you phone 150? who do you ask for when you get through? Did you ask to be put through to retentions or is it the person on the 150 who can sort you out with a new package?
Sorry for late response only just noticed this. There are a list of options when you phone 150 one of which is for people thinking of leaving Virgin. If you press that on your phone pad it puts you through to retentions"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

I have never recieved a notice by email but I get a posted bill.
My daughter in her student house though, had only email bills because she didnt want it sent to her student house. But they didn't do this last time and sent it by post, she wasn't pleased about thatThanx

I've only got broadband and I don't get a bill at all I just got a email about 2 weeks before they take the money telling me how much they are going to take - so if it was wrong I had time to phone up and get it corrected, they haven't sent me one this month so I'm assuming Virgin are stopping this
Its a bit annoying as I'm gonna have to make sure there is more in my account now incase they take too much0 -
Yes thats same as my daughter she just had broadband too and they stopped the email but sent her a bill so you may even get a posted one yet. You can ring them on 150 to check the amount thats going to come out though and tell them you havent recieved an email and to make sure it doesnt happen in futureThanx

Just recieved letter from Virgin today advising they are changing all Direct Debits from July so every one has the same billing and collection date. whats the betting they bill us all wrong!Never pass up the opportunity to take a pee!:p0

Received the following email from Virgin todayFrom 1st July, our broadband helpline number is changing and from then on it’ll cost 25p per minute to call from a Virgin home phone, plus 10p to connect. Mobiles and other networks may vary. The new number is 0906 212 1111.
Over and above this, we want to make it quicker and easier for you to find the information you need. So when you need help, here’s what to do:
Step 1
If you’re having trouble with your broadband service, for example if it’s running slower than it should be, or you’re having trouble seeing certain pages, the first thing to do is switch off your computer and modem, then restart it again. This may repair any basic faults right away and get you back up and running quickly.
Step 2
If that didn’t work, the next thing to do is call our service status line on 0800 561 0061 to find out if there’s a problem in your area. It’s absolutely free. Or if you still have access to the internet, you can visit our help site. It’s at https://www.virginmedia.com/help
If you have questions about things like how to set up your email account or how to sort out your internet security, you’ll find the answers online too.
Step 3
If you can’t find what you’re looking for online, or you can’t look online, then you can call our new broadband helpline.
We have over 200 Virgin Broadband experts ready to help if you’re having issues with your Virgin Broadband modem or service. So they can help you faster, you’ll need to have your account details to hand and be at your computer.
If you have a question about equipment that hasn’t been supplied by Virgin Media, like your computer or your Blackberry, then you’ll need to get in touch with your manufacturer or you can call the PC helpline on 0906 991 0001. It costs £1 a minute plus 10p to connect. Mobiles and other networks may vary.
We hope that helps and that you continue to enjoy the same great service!
The Virgin Media team
So since taking over Telewest not only has my service become worse than what it was but now if I ring to talk to there support to complain about service they are going to charge me for the honour!0
