rang CR today, around 7.30 (spoke to someone called mike)
was paying £40 currently minus £4 retention loyalty something or other so totalling £36.
getting 2mb bb
basic tv
phone unlimited talk24.
really good chap, gave me same package but with XL tv for 50p less.... thought he was joking ! then i told him i wasnt interested in tv, just wanted to pay less bills.
he then offered me , without argument, my original package for £16.99....
... like i said, really good chap !
but there is a 12 month tie-in .. but at that price, i dont mind !!!!
just hope this offer is honoured when i get my bills ... cuz before i have been told one thing and never been honoured, so had to keep to ringing them up.!0 -
Howdy folks
(sorry if this has been aswered before but not got the time to go through 65 pages!)
So when is the best time to call the CR dept? I've tried numerous times in the evening and on sat (don't really get a chance to call from work) and have been on hold for up to 20 mins waiting to get through to someone ...!
Btw. my package is as follows:
Broadband L
TV L & Telephone (?)
Talk Evenings & Weekends
£49.99
What discount could I expect here?
Thanks! :beer:0 -

Sounds very pricey to me. I think you could do better. Maybe say your other half said it is a poor deal and you should still cancel. I wrote down 2 offers from these last 2 pages that people have and thats how i have the £25 which sounds better than what you have. 2meg broadband is fine for me. I use computer all the time and its fast enough. Maybe if you cut that you willl also get the free calls anytime of day also.

Ring 0800 183 0123 option 3 for disconnection. Yours is very pricy too . I reckon you should get the same for £30 or £35. Staff are very nice and it pays to be polite. Dont fall into first offer, say i know others who have a better deal and mabe write one offer down from last 2 pages that you fancy having at same price.
Thanks for the info, much appreciated! :j0 -
right...had v+ installed apparently theres a nationwide problem with it, gonna be fixed on apr29th...i said this was completely rubbish and i wasnt happy...so they gave me £25...and will compensate me when it (finally) gets fixed!

I have a customer retentions number for a particular customer retentions advisor, would this number still stand even tho' it's now virgin-media and no longer NTL?? Or should I use the number stated recently in this thread??
Any good deals out there for Broadband?? Currently paying £20 to virgin-media.0 -

Doesn't mean another advisor might not offer a better deal.

I don't know if it is still valid, I will try it out on Monday. Are virgin-media stiil as amicable as ntl retentions were?? I always found ntl quite easy to deal with, no arguements over getting a deal.0
