    I am currently on
    1mb
    tv L
    talk evening and weekends local
I am currently paying £34, I have been with them for just over a year.
If I phoned would I be able to get a better deal?

Yes, that is what I pay a month - or within a pound - and I have talk unlimited 24; plus 4mb bb; plus tv XL; plus TV Drive box, plus an additional (second) box.

    I was paying £61.00 for
    L - Broadband
    XL - T/V
XL - Phone which includes free days/evening/weekends

Rang today and they have reduced my package price to £41.00 for Life so no ringing back in 3 months or so. I also managed to have them credit next months bill with £30.00 late charges.

Word of warning though - dont go through the customer services route, i was fobbed of twice there. Instead ask to be put through to the disconections dept. They WILL negotiate a deal with you to keep you

i've just finished a 6 months free BB with NTL so want to ring up and see what virgin will offer as £18 a month for 2m is a bit steep.
anyone had any good offers for BB only?

The £10 2Mb offer for 12 months expired on 31/03/07.

Instead of seaching for someone new, call VM & ask for a reduced rate (assuming you were happy with their service). I don't know what else you're on with them (TV/Phone?), but for a small extra charge a month they may agree to continue supplying your broadband.

My neighbours, who were paying ~£50/month for TV+Phone, got 8Mb unlimted BB for only £5 extra about 2 months ago. Yesterday they received a letter saying they're going to increase it to 20Mb(!?) at no additional cost.

I've been on their £9.99 2Mb offer (was 1Mb initially) since June-July05 (cable BB only, no TV/phone). Everytime I've called after my initial year & subsequent 6-month extensions, they've offered to extend it even further with no contract/obligation to continue. G

I'd been paying around £42 for telephone line rental, TV Size L and Broadband Size M, which they reduced to £30 a couple of weeks ago when I took it up with them. Today I noticed that new subscribers were being offered the XL package included in the £30, so phoned them up to query why existing long time customers didn't get offered the deal - she immediately upgraded my TV package to XL - for the £30 for life deal!!

    Pam

PS ... and now having read the rest of the thread, I see I can get faster broadband and better phone package for around the same money !!

I rang up the other day and was point blank refused a better deal. When I asked to speak to a manager I was told he was the most senior person and there wasnt anyone higher than him! Yea right.

Despite me not getting a promised phone call back from said pl*nker, I rang again and got offered:

    4meg BB

phone rental and talk unlimited (all day/ nite free phone calls up to 59 mins and then ring back again)

    Large TV package

    For £25 :)

    Does that sound reasonable?

    Sounds good to me.

I'm only only on the Phone & Broadband package, but I'm paying £34.50 for evenings and weekends, plus 2Mb broadband. I must have spoken to the same guy as you did when I called as I could not believe his attitude - he might just as well have said to me 'Either pay this price or go elsewhere'; I was so angry with his tone I asked him if he had received any customer service training, and he laughed at me  - at this point I told him to disconnect me and to get his supervisor to call as I wished to make a complaint against his attitude.

I am still waiting for the call :wall:
