And one below that similar to yours but with L broadband instead. To be honest I would have preferred to keep the family tv but I'm just trying to save some money. I don't really want to be paying £34.95 a month. He just offered an alternative of £30 with free evenings and weekends rather than talk24
To be honest I'm paying more now than before I rang I was on half price bb half price tv free talk24 and phoneline plus a credit for 3 services £8.50 and another credit £8.92 but they started to charge me full price bb before the 6 months was up and the talk 24 ran out so I rang to see if they would still apply the broadband and take off talk 24 now it had ran out
The man said they were doing away with the repeating offers and were doing loyalty packages now and that was the cheapest it could be so I felt I should accept it
I rang a while later for my stepmums account and was told its only 1 offer per customer now. Shes got tv xl phone and evenings and weekends for £26.75 which I thought was a lot but they said it was only broadband customers that get the good offers but shes 78 and doesnt want broadband she doesnt have a pcThanx

called up on behalf of parents over past couple of days & managed to get them a better deal.
They had for £30:
talk weekends
TV L
2MB bb,
They also had a v+ box which is £15 per month.
they wouldn't shift at all on the V+ box but gave me alot of different packages to choose from, i went for the first (which is basically a free upgrade to XL TV (this is for life):
£30
Talk weekends
TV XL
2MB bb
£35
talk eve & weekends
TV XL
4MB bb
£34
talk unlimited
TV XL
2MB
£24
talk weekend
TV L
2MB
£19.95
talk unlimited with special mobile & international rates
free tv (like freeview)
2MB
There were alot of other packages available but i wasn't told what they were - the chap said this was because they wouldn't have been useful to me.
As for me, i renewed my package last month & have:
£9 (ish)
free talk weekend
2MB bb0 -
Thanx thats useful Discogod
How much are you actually paying then yourself for your 2mb broadband and phoneline with free talk weekend exactly? If you mean around £9 thats really low but youl have your call costs on top of that though too I guess but its still really low as the phone alone is normally £11 and lowest to get bb is about £10 so don't know how youve managed that
The talk24 is supposed to be going down to £9.95 anyway soon. I wonder if loyalty plans including the talk24 will go down with it... I'd hope soThanx

Only way to find out is ring the number. They told me the systems were down last night so ring back monday I then asked them if they were open sat and he said yes between 9 and 5 but I'm not sure if he really meant retentions or customer services. I havent rang yet just wasnt sure what I want to ask for nowThanx

£9.21 for my broadband.
My call costs last month were 29p. such low usage is how i got free line rental. I've got a contract mobile so i make calls on there. Also use internet phone. When i have to call 0845/0870 numbers then i use https://www.saynoto00870.com & my landline through a call carrier (use http://callchecker.moneysavingexpert.com/).Are retentions open at weekend?
Yes they are, the chap i spoke to on thurs told me he was working on saturday (no idea on sundays). I'd give it a go though, more likely a customer will leave if they can't get through to the right people.0 -
Were paying £20.99 a month to Virgin Media, £11 line rental and £9.99 for 2MB broadband, which was discounted from £28.99 on a 6 month deal, which expired recently, called again after receiving a letter from Sky advertising 10MB broadband for £10 a month and got offered;
2MB broadband, Talk unlimted and line rental for £19.95 a month for life!!
Didn't even have to mention any other offers like Sky, just said I was thinking of cancelling! :beer:2014 running challenge 587.4 miles / 250 miles0 -
i've just finished a 6 months free BB with NTL so want to ring up and see what virgin will offer as £18 a month for 2m is a bit steep.
anyone had any good offers for BB only?0 -
