  • I don't know if it is still valid, I will try it out on Monday. Are virgin-media stiil as amicable as ntl retentions were?? I always found ntl quite easy to deal with, no arguements over getting a deal.

I phoned up recently looking for a better deal . Very pleased , hardly had to say a word and I got a good deal , very friendly as well .
Do you just have broadband with VM/NTL ? Might be hard getting a better deal if you just have the 1 service with them , people with 2 or more services seem to be getting the best offers .

I notice some of the deals people are getting aren't deals at all as you can get them on their website, plus the BB will be upgraded in anycase!
When I rang them I pointed out that the deal they were offerring me was already on their site so they were'nt giving me anything extra and they modified it.

Towards the end of March I signed up for BB/phone/mobile, for various reasons on April 5th I cancelled the whole lot, (mainly to do with the phone deal).
On April 7th after reconsidering, I called back on the contact number they had given (in case of problems) explained that I wanted to cancel the cancellation and alter the package.
That was OK, I was redirected to sales to arrange a new deal, I ended up with just 2meg BB at the March offer price of 10 quid/mth for 12 mths. I will also receive my 10quid discount on the first bill, because I originally signed up online. I was wondering if it would be too cheeky to ask for the last bit when she confimed it without me asking.

In answer to your question, if you don't ask etc, give it a go.
I may be the exception but I have found CS to be very helpful and courteous.
I now have a name and direct line number in case of problems.
    Move along, nothing to see.

mine's okay - had a few hichups, used it as an in with retentions - their response - you're getting a £90 package for £35 - stop moaning - fair cop!

i guess it depends on what you use your phone etc for to be honest, I wouldnt use the international and dont want the XL channels, so I got mine for

    4meg BB

phone rental and talk unlimited (all day/ nite free phone calls up to 59 mins and then ring back again)

    Large TV package

    For £25
