Thought I would present a more balanced view, as I read this thread with some concern earlier this month, as this was my first experience of mobile cashback.
I signed up on the 11th July with OSPS for an orange deal, I sent my claim off on the 5th November for my first cash back claim, with a bill that had arrived on 17th October.
On the 9th November my claim was returned stating that I was not eligable to claim until 11th November, so I stuck the lot backin an envelope and sent it recorded delivery.
I had also noticed that I had not received the auto cashback cheque for £45 which should have arrived afte month one, so I mentined that on my claim form.
Today (24th November) I have received 2 cheques for the full amount of my claim.
So other than being a little jobs worth over the dates it was fairly painless !!!0 -

my second cash back payment. This time they claim I submitted it too late (it was 15 days ahead of the 45 days limit). Last time they claimed they didn't receive it. In short they will find any excuse not pay cash out. My response is simple. I will sue them again. Tomorrow my second warning letter will be issued again with 14 days notice. I will get my cash but I resent the amount of my time they are wasting.0 -

Thats the whole concept of these deals though, to get a certain percentage of people to miss there cashbacks. The companies can quite easily send out cheques automatically at 3 month periods to people on these tarrifs, but decide to make it very difficult to receive cashbacks.
Theres so many tricks that companys can try to wriggle out of paying up, each one will have a certain percentage of people giving up. End of the day small claims seems to be the only option in the end, which is a real shame.
I've spent 3 months trying to get a refund from CPW, including 1 hour and 45 minutes on the phone on one occassion getting passed from pillar to post.Originally Posted by richardjames73

I ordered my phone through them in May. It was a week delayed through a supply shortage. I found this out when I phoned them to find out what was going on. It arrived 2 days later. I waited no time on the phone by the way. When it came to cash back time I simply filled the form in as per their instructions and sent it off recorded delivery. The cheque arrived 6 weeks later (a bit long if you ask me) issued by Carphone Warehouse. I'm quite happy with their service. They are certainly no worse than many other mobile retail firms out there.0

I've received 3 letters from OSPS CS. The first returned my original claim and bills telling me they needed the most recent bill now. Interesting as they had previously claimed that these bills hadn't been received. I'd since sent them a more recent bill which they sent back saying I was now outside the the time window [not surprising considering the delays caused by them pretending they hadn't got the original one] .
Now, a day later, I've received a letter of apology for the delay sying my claim has been passed on for processing. Too late! I've already instigated Small Claims procedure so I'm looking for them to pay up the extra £30 for that as well.
I'll let you know what happens
The Money Claim procedure is very easy [use ie not firefox] and I'll repeat Boatman's link from earlier in this thread in case anyone needs it.

I would like to say WELL DONE TO osps, sent my first cashback claims off this month. Received by OSPS on 22.11.05 received two cheques today dated 25.11.05. So they sorted them both in a week.0

Gobsmacked this morning to receive a cheque in the post for my second claim.
Was expecting at least a 4 week wait as per my first claim.
Used recorded delivery to post voucher and bill off on Monday - 5 DAY TURNAROUND! WOW!0 -
even i got my cheque with in 14 days of posting the first claim.totally unexpected from the OSPS.But recommend others to prefer cash back deals which are based on direct bank account deposit.0

At last a cheque form OSPS - it was from their Group Legal Dept (same location as Carphone Warehouse Group Legal) and it covered my full cash-back and legal fees - £140. REady to sue them now - they calim my second claim was submitted late - even though it is tazmped as received some 2 weeks before the deadline! This time I will use the online process rather than my lcoal county court - just because I fancy learning about that process. Open and shut case so I am not worried in the slightest!0
