If you still have the phone on Orange contract, you could sign up for their online service - it only takes 2 minutes (enter phone number and a few brief details) and you then have access to your bills which you can print off (and send them a copy of the bill that you originally sent).

Has anyone received a cashback after submitting printed online bills?
It was one of the reasons I was told (verbally) by CS that my claim MAY have been experiencing difficulties.
Although, I've been told so much bulls**t by them I don't believe they know any more about cashback claims than I do.

I don't know if it is acceptable in this case, but as they have asked for a copy of the bill, the original has been sent, and they have asked for it to be faxed, then it would be a copy anyway  when it arrived through the fax machine? They cannot dispute receiving it as they have signed for it, therefore this would appear to be reasonable (I was also asked to provide a copy of the special delivery receipt number when faxing the bill through to them - they must have a few letters missing at the moment as mine went in at the end of December and apparently still hasn't turned up ). In the same way, you cannot be expected to send them a copy of the claim form as that had to go in the envelope.

I would be interested to hear if anyone has received their cashback with online bills (as they are PDF of the original in Orange's case with Duplicate Invoice across the top).

OSPS dont accept prints of online bills, unless it's changed since my last claim in September. Something to do with 'manipulation' and the ability to edit dates to suit, although as you say, a read-only PDF is pretty self-explanatory. There were a number of us who signed up for online billing then had to ring and cancel it to ensure we got paper bills.
As mentioned before on this thread.....photocopy everything before you send it off...send Special Delivery then apply for the free "proof of signature" from Royal Mail website as a matter of course. Claims are invariably lost to make it more difficult for you.

Forgive my arrogance here but I have taken them to court and won so I have experience. Please do not waster money on special delivery. Recorded delivery is more than suffiicent and is equally recognised by a court. Yesa, Royal Mail are less likely to get a signature to prove delivery was made butin a court you won't need a signature. A letter from Royal Mail is enough evidence or a print out from their web site. OSPS are just placing as many obstacles as possible to pay out and limit your spend in trying to get them to comply. the only cash worth spending apart from photocopying all commmuncations and registered post is the £30 at your local County Court!

I have great pleaseure in announcing that I received a cheque for the full outstanding amount and $30 court fee by speacial deliver from the Carphone Warehouse Group Legal dept.

After raising my claim online, the court gave them 14 days to respond which coincided over Christmas. I received no response but requested that the court pass a judgement by default after the 14 days again online.

I was agonising over whether to get the bailiffs in (on line) but this would have meant that I would have to pay $55 upfront but again this would have been recoverable when the cheque arrived.

The process has been surprisingly simple but their's been a fair bit of anxiety whilst waiting.

I've also managed to give them a CCJ (not that they'll have to phone debtbusters for finance)All I need to do now is get the 3rd claim paid which I've already sent.

Big Thanks to all on this forum as I wouldn't have got here without this thread.

What was the outcome of this please? I claimed my m12 cashback but am waiting for them to process - sent end of December (Special Delivery) but as yet it has not appeared on their system according to CS. Apparently Redemptions were closed over Christmas and returned on 3/1, therefore working through the claims and a slight delay.

Have to agree with Feival on the last sentence in particular, having experienced delay after delay on my first claim.

My question now is: What timescale should I (and anyone else) put on OSPS delays? It is now exactly 22 days since my current claim was received by them. Phone calls have promised the cheque by now and today was told cheque was printed and would be with me in a week.
I'm tempted to write and send the letter giving them 14 days or get court action right away.

What do people think is a reasonable amount of time after submitting a claim, to begin action?
    Any informed opinions welcome.

Now you write to them warning them that if you don't receive the cheque within 14 days of the date of the letter you will take them to court. You need to demonstrate to the court you have given them reasonable time to comply and 14 dasy is reasonable. As usual, recorded post and photocopies. After taht time runs out lodge your claim and good luck!
  • I called them last week and this week, on both occassions they told me my cheque has been printed and I will receive it in the next few days.
I'll give them until next Tuesday.....

i know this topic has been discussed many times before and could probably have it's own forum... but I thought I would just warn others about sending their casback claim forms to OSPS.

I sent mine 2 days ago via Royal Mail Special Delivery, it was delivered and signed for. I rang them yesterday to confirm receipt but it was not showing on my account so the assistant advised me to call back today, which I have just done. It is still not showing on my account, so I have now had to contact Royal Mail for a 'proof of signature' to be sent to me.

If you have sent your claim in (Special Delivery is the most reliable, I sent one in via recorded and it got lost! Be warned!), do not assume that they have a record of it, make sure you ring them to see if they have applied it to your account. There seems to be no limits to the amount you have to chase this company to get your money! It seems they will try everything to get out of paying you!!

I once called Royal mail regarding delivery of recorded mail. They told me large companies do not sign for recorded delivery and that's why it does not show on the royal mail website.
