Not very impressed with that I'm afraid. Love2recycle offered £15, Mopay £24 in M&S vouchers and Envirofone £15.04 for a Samsung D900. As its in good working condition I'll sell it on Ebay. Done that before and got loads more than these websites0

I will be checking some of the sites mentioned on here as I have a couple of phones to recycle.
Disturbingly we had a wee brown bag hooked onto our front door this week(along with all our neighbours) saying
"no landfill sites, please recycle your old mobile phone, reduce your carbon footprint and help save the environment will collect your phones on the following days if no phone please return your bags"
No contact details on the bag or company address/number!!
If people actually gave their phone away this way they have no idea where it is going and whoever is doing it must be making a few quid out of it. Wasn't sure if it was a trading standards issue? Unsolicited mailshot,no business details etc?
Its very similar idea to the charity bags you get shoved through your door but you have to check its really a charity and not a business! I personally always actually take my stuff to the charity shop.
I'm sure some people will be duped by this but I will be checking out the sites on here to see the best price I can get. Anyone else had experience of these wee brown bags through their door begging for old mobiles?0 -
although these sites seem ok, really you should try to sell your phone for your self. if nothing else its more money! I always give my old phones to family members, saving everyone some money!0

The cheque from fonebank arrived this morning - excellent service with no problems at all.0

I cannot recommend Mazuma highly enough!! I recently recycled a 2 yr old Sony Ericsson K800i with them for £32 (20% above everyone else) and only £20 less than the cheapest brand new PAYG price I could find!!!!
From entering the IMEI on their site to getting a cheque was 5 days!!!!
I've since used them for other phones with a similar result.0 -
Im using Mazuma at the moment. Sent them 3 broken phones, to a total of £77.
Sent them yesterday afternoon in the freepost bags they sent me, just got an email to say they have arrived, and have been accepted.
Hopefully cheque will arrive tommorow, then down the bank to pay it in.
Hopefully happy days0 -
I just recycled 2 phones for £43! Really chuffed. I am desperately trying to de-clutter this year so I was really happy to find a way to get rid of the clutter AND make money.. if only they'd take all the other stuff too.. I'd be rolling in itDoing my best to save money and get rid of the clutter in 2009!

Hiya,
Just would like to know what is the best company to go to for Mobile phone recycling as prices varies a lot.
Thanks0 -
I have some really old mobiles that won't be worth anything, is there anywhere I can take them (pref. a shop in town) just to dump them so they can be disposed of in environmently way. Thanks0
