    Hi Miss Orangey Goodness,

No the bread doesn't go soggy and chicken and stuffing is one of my favourites to freeze. If you lift them out in the morning they will be ready to eat at lunchtime and help to keep anything else in the lunchbox cool in the meantime.

This thread will give you ideas of what does and doesn't freeze well:

    Freezing Sandwiches

I'll add your thread to that one later to keep the suggestions together.

I have been doing it for 15 years.

I make the whole family's weeks worth in one go. It enables me to buy the more economical larger packs of sliced meat, cheese and to take advantage of the buy two for£x offers on bread.

I put up salad in those mini clip boxes to take seperately, but I wash all the salad when I do the butties so putting them together is a breeze.

I defrost them in the fridge the night before as my lot have had tuna lolliies:o in the past.

I couldn't face making sarnies every night ... that would be too much for the 'prefer sitting on my bum' me.
  • it does sound great to be able to do a weeks worth in one go, i may give it a try

I always make up our sandwiches on a sunday and freeze them all, pull them out the morning they are due to be eaten (no fridge at our work places!) and they're always fine

    we usually have fillings like...

    cheese
    ham
    chicken
    chorizo
egg & salad cream (The extra light salad cream)
    cheese & branston pickle
sausage (using leftover sausages from tea)
    tuna & salad cream
    corned beef & pickle
    Ham & piccalili

we use breads like sliced tiger bread, rolls, tortilla etc

I also make up sweet treats like victoria sponges, cookies, brownies, fairy cakes and freeze those in individual portions and we pull them out the same time as the sandwiches :)

Oh and like Bluebag we take small pots of salad that we may want to put on sandwiches once at work ... or take along extras like sweetcorn, gherkins etc :)
