Bulk LPG - Cheapest suppliers / supply route?

My 2 year deal at 48p ended in the summer but I didn't do anything about it. I renewed with Extragas 2 weeks ago at 45p for 1 year with a 3p increase in the second year. I pay upfront for my gas so only actually pay 44p with the penny discount. I'm not sure where you are and if they supply you as they don't cover all of the UK, I don't think.

Renewed recently with LPG Save.
Went from 87ppl with flogas (who sent the same as an offer to renew) to 51ppl... Also with flogas.

Blimey this forum has gone quiet in recent months.
Anyway, North Worcestershire, just moving from LPG Save(Flogas) 49P Year 1, 61p Year 2 - to CarverGases.
Carver currently 44p but variable, but no fixed contract, interesting.....they say the fact that there is no 2 year contract means they have to keep their prices keen. Makes sense, we'll see how it goes.0 -
Hi, new to this thread, I was notified by FloGas (I’m in Worcestershire) in Oct that standing charge was going up to 60.75ppd plus VAT. Just coming to end of contract and currently paying 62ppl plus 5% VAT so 65.1ppl. Called LPGSave today (they negotiated new contract 2yrs ago), they said they will no longer be able to negotiate as suppliers require min usage to be more than 1200l per year (mine is approx 950) in order for them to negotiate lower price. Haven’t contacted other suppliers yet, although Avanti wouldn’t supply 2yrs ago saying a tree was too near (underground) tank even though FloGas passed the installation only 3yrs previously with same tree in same place! Will be ringing round over the next few weeks for better prices inc standing charge!philtrick123 said:Just a notification that our standing charge with Flogas is going up to 28.3ppd (plus VAT!) from 1/10/25. Anyone else had this?

Anyone else had this?Hmm, I think you are confusing price per litre with the standing charge, these are two very separate things. My standing charge is 16p/day here in Kent.So far as the price per litre is concerned .. tricky. Are you sure your usage is 950l pa and not 1250lpa? ;-)The figures are not so far apart, and very weather dependant .. a cold winter would make all the difference .. if you measure the year from not long after a delivery, what is the annual consumption then? For the installation, ask Flogas to get an engineer to come and certify the tank installation. If it is not in accordance with regulations, they have a legal responsibility to make it so, if the property permits. If what I said helped you, please "Thank" the relevant post. It cheers me up somewhat..0 -
Thanks for the response. The standing charge is definitely 60.75ppd, even back in 2020 when it was installed it was more than what most others are paying at 22ppd (assuming they charge more anyway for underground).JerryW said:Aeryn_sun said:

And I was paying 50ppl in first year of this contract with year 2 capped at no more than 12ppl above, and as Flogas always go to the max anyway, making it 62ppl plus VAT.I am also not a high user, I only have a 1410l tank and have one delivery of between 915-970l the same time every year when capacity is at approx 15% (and filling to 85% capacity).
The tank was checked by an engineer in 2021 and certified ok, but I’ve not had it checked since, so will look to request another one.0 -
Just filled up with 1100 litres at 51ppl from my local independent, HBS, here in Hampshire. I don't pay a standing charge, so that works out about 48ppl for my consumption of 2500 litres per year, assuming a normal standing charge of £75pa.0

I am in South Worcestershire with a yearly consumption of around 2500l/a. My Flogas fixed 55p contract is coming to an end.
Flogas initial offer was 55p fixed for 1 year and variable for year 2.
I went through LPG Solutions, who seem very good and I am moving to PureLPG on their Wholesale tracker tariff, the current cost is 44p/l and tank rental is £78p/a.
When Flogas got the transfer request they came back with a revised offer of 48p/l fixed for 2yrs and rental of 22p/d.
I will give PureLPG a try.

My neighbour has just signed up to Extragas at 39p fixed for a year not very happy considering I’ve been with them years and signed up at 45p a few months ago. There seems to be some low prices out there at the moment. I phoned Avanti for a quote even though I can’t switch as that is who my neighbour used to be with and was offered 46p fixed for 2 years!0

Flogas did similar with me, but 49p fixed for 2 years. I'd previously asked them for their best offer - which they clearly didn't give me! So they can do one.Tim20 said:I am in South Worcestershire with a yearly consumption of around 2500l/a. My Flogas fixed 55p contract is coming to an end.

I am moving to Carvers whose deal seems similar to PureLPG 44p but no 2 year contract. Their rep came round yesterday to check the tank. Pleasant chap. Carvers cover 50 mile radius of Wolverhampton.0
