Just out of contract with Avantigas. Currently paying 53p a litre on usage of about 5500 litres per year. What sortof price could I reasonably expect to pay if I shop around. I have to say, I'm very happy with their service!

Should be less I reckon.. c45p/l .. but you can only find out by shopping around. I'm paying 43p in Kent. The price varies greatly by region.
Everyone please note, it is so helpful to say where you are, if you are after pricing info.

We're located in the West Midlands near Kenilworth. Any suggestions as to suppliers that might be worth contacting please?

We’ve been with calor about 2 years since we had the tank installed. We use about a tank full a year (2500l underground tank). They’ve just sent us a letter saying our price is going up by 3.5p per litre up to 72.5p. This sounds expensive looking at the posts here?

I suspect your contract is up for renewal. Have a look at it and check. Then try phoning around to find the best quote. I know it is a nuisance, but it is only once in two years and it can be a very profitable thing to do. When you have a price you consider reasonable ask Calor to match it. If they can't, move supplier.
You should ask Flogas, Avanti and LPGSave, plus any local suppliers - I don't know where you are based. Here in Kent there is really only Extragas, which is seldom competitive. 2,500l/yr is not a great deal but you should still be able to get close to or below 50p/l. Let us know how you get on!

Kent, Rose gas?  They are Sussex but I think they may cover Kent too?

Tried them a couple of times. Uncompetitive on price, I think they are not that keen to come to Kent.

I got a letter a few weeks back from Calor saying they were increasing the price to 0.5990 (excl. VAT) per litre (we're in Gloucestershire).

The problem we've got is that where the tank is cited it doesn't meet regulations so we would have problems moving to another supplier.

I will try and bargain with Calor but I'm not holding out much hope.

I got Calor to move my tank to somewhere that does. I had to provide the concrete base, they did the rest foc. They do have a legal responsibility to make the installation compliant if that can be done. It isn't just moving the tank, there is all the pipework too.
Sympathy, to anyone who doesn't have enough space to do that.
