LPG Save just offered us (in mid Wales) 48 ppl, with option to fix for12 or 24 months... Doesn't say who the contract is with - their website appears to suggest it's them as a standalone supplier/switcher...

An incurable optimist, I suppose...

Has anyone had a letter from flogas putting up their standing charge mid contract?
it seems buried in the contract is a term saying they can do this.

Yes I got a letter from Flogas on Saturday stating they were increasing the standing charge by nearly 50% if memory serves me correctly. It stated - due to increased operational costs, from memory0

Its really frustrating they do this sort of thing. If they want to increase prices at 2 year negotiang time, fair enough. You can compare quotes and make a decisión. This backhanded way just makes us customers feel we are being shabbily treated. They then end up with annoyed customers who do not trust them. I honestly thought flogas had turned a corner on building customer relationships. This shows they haven’t and we need to be on our guard at all times with them.🙁1

LPG Bulk Users (for info),
LPG Renewal time for me -
So -
Flogas Letter = 59ppl (2 years fixed) plus 27 ppd standing charge.
Flogas Phone call = Variable 55ppl + 22 ppl standing charge
Flogas (via LPG Save) = 51 ppl (year 1) and up to 5ppl increase in year 2, plus 21 ppd standing charge.
I contacted a few other companies who didn't seem interested in taking me on as a customer with a 2,200 litre annual usage.
So, I signed up for Flogas again via LPG save, as 51 ppl (and standing charge) is my current price I have been paying for last 2 years. I will have to take the year 2 increase on the chin. I am in East Sussex for info also.
Good luck.

It's that fun and games time for me again, on my To Do list but have been putting it off. My usage is a bit less than yours, will report back with my findings for others interested (West Yorks)0 -

Good luck.A wee bit surprised since here in Kent, Flogas quoted me a better price (over the phone, 47p for 2 years fixed) than LPG save could do.It really is all a bit random, isn't it?If what I said helped you, please "Thank" the relevant post. It cheers me up somewhat..1 -

47p is a decent offer. Perhaps I should have called instead I used the Flogas 'live chat' facility. You don't mention the standing charge, is that reasonable also?16.44p/day which is £60pa, near enough. +5% VAT as always. In my experience it is necessary to haggle. ... is that your best price? ... xx have offered this, will you match it? ... why are you charging me more if prices are going down? ... can I speak to your boss please? .. if you offer me that price fixed for 2 years you have a deal ... etc etc. Always polite, but persistent. For those used to the other utilities this old-style marketplace can be rather unsettling, not to mention time consuming .. but I have learned to enjoy the process. It can be very cost-effective, and it is only every 2 years after all.Whatever terms you get make sure they are in writing .. an email will do but verbal agreements don't count. I ask for a contract to sign, read it carefully, and simply delete and initial any clause I don't think applies any more. So nothing in my contract about being able to increase the standing charge or "operational costs." 47p/l and £60pa it is, fixed for two years. If folk think well I haven't the time or the inclination for all this faff, fair enough, I quite understand. But you will pay. I treat it as a hobby. :-)As for 2,200l pa, I wonder how accurate that is? Obviously it would be quite wrong to say 10,000l pa, and they would rightly take you up on it. but it only needs a cold snap or two to make it 2,500l or 3,000l, doesn't it? These are predictions, after all and will not be counted to the last drop...
