Bulk LPG - Cheapest suppliers / supply route?

Ordered from Avanti Gas on 30th January... gauge now on 5% (and doesn't go lower than that) and has been for the last 3 days... email reply from their team telling me I won't run out until 3rd March and they'll deliver before then, but can't tell me when!! Now having to turn heating off so I can at least guarantee some hot water

Investigations into heat pumps may have to be hastened as I don't think I can deal with this stress again!Excuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard0 -
We are having exactly the same trouble with Avanti - ordered on the 24th of Jan! Their 'forecast' dates are completely nonsensical.
Our contract is up at the end of March and I'm betting they won't fill us up to the top when they do eventually turn up. I won't be signing up with them again, that's for sure!0 -

Did you get a decent price .... or not? Did you decide to switch?Don't really understand the question ... my advice is, shop around EVERY time. Whatever your existing provider says is not worth listening to, at least until you have told them how much better you can do elsewhere...Shop around EVERY time, folks!FWIW, I was quoted 68p/l. However when challenged they reduced it to 47p/l, fixed for two years. LPG Save said they couldn't do better. At the time, last Autumn, the whole market was in a tizzwozz and in the end I accepted their offer. Doing the same now, I would expect to do better; we are back in the 30-something range nowIf what I said helped you, please "Thank" the relevant post. It cheers me up somewhat..2

I renewed with Flogas via LPG Save in early December. At the time I also got quotes from Calor, Avanti and from Flogas directly. Avanti were the cheapest but reviews put me off (and posts above by ceh209 and aurora_boo reinforce this, sorry to hear of your stress getting refills). LPG Save Flogas quote was the same as the direct quote but with year 2 capped (Flogas direct year 2 was variable). Rightly or wrongly I went for the security of a cap, in retrospect with prices now falling I might have been better with year 2 variable. Such are the joys of LPGLittleVermin said:LPG-SAVE.....Anyone any experience of what happens AFTER you've had 2 years with (presumably!) Flogas after getting a deal through LPG-Save, please? In other news, still waiting for the AFP to be credited to my Octopus account...1 -

Many thanks, Lisa. I wonder if we'll hear of Flogas reducing their prices? And other suppliers?Lisa_mj said:

And ... of course my question is still there: has anyone experience of offers from LPG Save / Flogas after their 2 year LPG Save deal is up, please?
Good luck with getting your 200 cephalopods soon! Some octopuses can travel over land so maybe they'll come right to your door ...and [clever beasties!] climb in through your letter-box? Best not to publicise your postcode!1 -

Hi LittleVermin, my last post was about my experience last December after my first 2 year LPG Save deal was up, sorry might not have made that clear.LittleVermin said:

Aha, I have a wall mounted postbox so that might confuse the little (big?) critters, but if they're bringing me 200 of your good old fashioned English pounds then I'll leave the doors and windows open to make it easy for them!1 -

Many thanks, Lisa, for the clarification. The LPG 'market' is full of surprises - but not in this case: maybe Jerry understands my question now! Of course I go for all the quotes I can (as he suggests).Lisa_mj said:Hi LittleVermin, my last post was about my experience last December after my first 2 year LPG Save deal was up, sorry might not have made that clear.

And as for those wished-for coin-bearing octopuses..... well, they'll probably come mob-handed (or mob-armed), each animal carrying one coin......the 1,400 unencumbered arms could cause some havoc in your property! And leaving all the doors and windows open might cost you more than £200 in heating, especially if the octopuses are not too clear about their ETA.... BTW, Octopus have now taken over my Bulb account ... and locked me out (until they send me a new log-in).Or, rather, I can log in ...but then am told I cannot access any info.1 -

...or presumably your recently credited £200 AFP, that's a bit of a kick in the tentacles! My Octopus app kindly reminds me that Bulb is now part of the Octopus family every time I open it (which is currently several times a day, you know, just in case...£££s)I can log in ...but then am told I cannot access any info.1 -

Ouch! My LPG boiler has been out of action - this is the third winter (long story!) so I've been using electric heaters mostly ...so vast Bulb bills. I now have a new LPG boiler ...and want to reduce my monthly payments to Bulb/Octopus. Next payment in a couple of weeks ... I do not want to make Octopus into a Fat Cat (there are enough of those in the UK already).1 -

Did you get a delivery?ceh209 said:Ordered from Avanti Gas on 30th January... gauge now on 5% (and doesn't go lower than that) and has been for the last 3 days... email reply from their team telling me I won't run out until 3rd March and they'll deliver before then, but can't tell me when!! We still haven't. My 89yo Dad is here (I've informed them of that several times) and he spent yesterday wearing his massive sheepskin coat with a hot water bottle tucked in, a blnaket, and my Finnish husband's arctic hat. It's 10 degrees in our living room - which is obviously too cold for someone so elderly.
I am almost incandescent with rage (shame we can't harness that heat...)
Avantigas have reached Nestle levels of 'terribleness' and disgrace in my estimation: I will never, ever, deal with them again - on principal - even if they offer the lowest price. I'm sure I'm not the only one. They're f-ing themselves over with this level of 'service'.1
