Bulk LPG - Cheapest suppliers / supply route?

Sadly there is no overall Ombudsman for LPG.JadeeDevon said:
Interested for others comments and I'd like to take this further to the OFT / ombudsman as I believe this is unfair practice by Avantigas.
There is a pay to join trade association that has its own appeals scheme, not all firms are a members either of the trade association or bound by its scheme.

You can't use OFT (it closed in 2014), but you can try your local council's trading standards, or Citizen's Advice, or write to the Competition and Markets Authority (https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/competition-and-markets-authority - forum members have done that, with good results), local and national press (with good results! - some should come up in a web search ...though too often the result is covered by a NDA*), etc.Sorting_Hat said:

There is NO ombudsman. OFGEM does not cover LPG.
There IS the Alternative Dispute Resolution scheme.... which most LPG suppliers (those in Liquid Gas UK, formerly UKlpg) are signed up to: https://www.liquidgasuk.org/domestic/ombudsman-scheme At least two forum members have used - or threatened to use - the ADR....and that got results which suited the customers.
*shockingly (well, to my mind, at least) forum members helped someone sort out a nasty problem with a major supplier .... but then that someone refused to post what the result was. Similarly with at least one consumer page in a major newspaper: the consumer editor, and readers, were not told the result (well at least the consumer editor made their scorn abundantly clear!).1 -
Could we possibly have a new sticky thread?
I was recently quoted 54p/l (+vat) for the whole two year contract. How much is everyone else paying currently?0 -
I have written to my MP today, I will report back as and when I get a reply.Burbage_Fox_2 said:Still no AFP sent to me , does anyone know who to contact directly within the UK Gov , can MSE please help.
I suggest everyone else who is in a similar position and has not received their £200 automatically also writes to their own MP. Remember to quote your full address and name, this allows them to validate you as a constituent of theirs and means that they MUST respond to you1 -
I'm not in contract and have just paid 53ppl (+VAT) for a 1000 litre fill with my local independent. This was the same price as my previous fill in November 22. The one before that in March 22 was 38ppl.1

Just looking into relative costs of mains gas, electricity and LPG.
Unless I have got something wrong, if I am paying 42p + 5% VAT = 44.1p a litre and Flogas tell me that 1 litre provides 7.08 KWH, that equates to 6.22 p KWH.
I believe the Energy Price Cap limits Mains Gas to 10p and Electricity to 34p per KWH.
So, doesn't that make my LPG much cheaper to use?1 -
In a word - Yes!
However, speaking as a LPG user for the past 40 years, it hasn't always been like this!3 -

Octopus are still being vague on when I'll get my payment. How long do I wait for Octopus to pay? What mechanism are the government using to stop double claims?1 -
