Same here, shall we have a sweepstake on whether or not we actually receive it before the onset of winter 2023!

Still no AFP sent to me , does anyone know who to contact directly within the UK Gov , can MSE please help.
I have written to my MP today, I will report back as and when I get a reply.

I suggest everyone else who is in a similar position and has not received their £200 automatically also writes to their own MP.  Remember to quote your full address and name, this allows them to validate you as a constituent of theirs and means that they MUST respond to you
Update, my MP replied today to confirm that the portal is now open, which I already knew from Burbage_Fox helpful post above but at least I did get a reply from my MP.  Think it would be a bit much to claim that my letter to him prompted him to pull the necessary strings to get the portal open  :D

EDF Chatbot now says AFP should have been made by the end of February , if it hasn't apply through the Government portal.  I've now filled in my application and should get a result within 6 weeks. The payment, if successful,  will now be made by my local council. Looks to me like EDF are avoiding participation in AFP as no one in my postcode area is on mains gas.

Octopus told me it's the local council that provide them with the list of off grid addresses so if you're not on the list from the council they can't credit the AFP so I think EDF hands are tied

Just for interest I provided EON with a copy of my last LPG delivery invoice.
That was sufficient proof for them.
However, I do appreciate every company will have a different approach.

Off topic- has anyone done the calculations for moving from LPG Combi to Air Source Heat Pump. Can someone point me to a different thread. It looks like with the government grant it looks like a similar price to replace a combi.
My LPG 2 year deal ends in October, I want to plan forward.
I haven't, but would be interested in seeing responses here. We're considering it - but a lot further down the line. From what I've read you really need to have a fully insulated property (doors and windows are on the list for us). I'm not totally convinced on ASHP at the moment - it seems it works for some people but the price of electricity is a lot higher than gas so as you say would be interested in seeing the calculations.
I’m looking at the possibilities of a Hybrid Air Source Heat Pump setup. Looking at the Valliant website, it seems you can combine one of their ASHPs with certain LPG Combi boilers. Simpler install (I.e. no major pipe work changes hopefully), but obviously doesn’t do away with the LPG requirement entirely. This is the model I understand is widely used in the Netherlands.

While the Hybrid model doesn’t qualify for the government grant at the moment, they have issued a consultation apparently. Swings and roundabouts, minimises the upheaval in the house for some reduction in the LPG cost.

Link below, and to be clear I’m not employed or affiliated to Valliant in anyway.

  • Hi MoneySaving people!
This is my first post, so apologies if I am asking a question in the wrong place, but I haven't found my way around the forums yet.
We are out of contract now with Flogas for our bulk domestic LPG, and have been quoted a new 2 year contract with a fixed price of 61p for one year, then variable for year two fills.
Does this sound like a good deal at the moment?
We have only just taken over the lease of this property so have no experience in the LPG market.
As Flogas own the underground tank, will it be expensive/prohibitive to switch to another supplier, just to save perhaps 5p/litre?
I know they were supposed to bring in some competition rules, but I have no idea if it is working to make switching easy, as it would be if we were on mains gas.
I'[d be very grateful for any experience/advice with recent prices (esp Flogas deals) or switching LPG supplier.
    Many thanks

Go onto the Liquid Gas website - see who supplies in your area and get a quote of each of them. When you have the lowest quote go back to Flogas and give them the option to beat it or move. The 61p is in my opinion way too expensive unless there are some other factors that are increasing the cost.

It doesn't sound like a good deal to me.   Don't worry about the tank - the suppliers must buy them off each other on transfer.  Don't forget to try LPG Save.  They have found good deals for me the last twice I have been out of contract.  Also I found switching easy the one time I did.
