  • Anyone else having issues getting a delivery from AvantiGas?

My order was placed on 28/11 I've updated my gauge regularly. The lowest my gauge reads is 5% and it's been lower than that for a few days. I gave a fairly young family, and have been turning the thermostat down to stretch the remaining gas till my delivery date today (which didn't arrive)

Just received an email saying they will organise an urgent delivery but if they find any gas in the tank at all they'll charge £210+vat!

Any similar experiences? Seems a shocking way to treat customers.

That is shocking, I would argue that as long is the gauge is showing 5% or less then you are entitled to an 'urgent' delivery. During cold weather I use about 1% per day less if weather is mild obviously.

    Hi all

Similar to others, my contract (Flogas) just come to an end so I've been looking at new quotes including LPGSave.
Two things I'm not sure about though is:

    1. I have enough LPG for another 2 or 3 months (assumes same usage as last year) so should I wait another month and see if quotes improve as hopefully the weather improves or switch now?

    2.  Many giving option of fixed year 1 and then variable year 2. These only seem worthwhile if the variable rate in 12 months time is <70ppl.  I can't help think it's try and sucker punch you in with low fixed year1 and then recover on year2 with a hike in variable!  Appreciate it's a bit of a crystal ball question, but what's the general consensus?

    Thanks!
I recently re-contracted with Flogas via LPG save, and am paying 51 ppl for the whole 2 years, they didn't add on any 2nd year increase (which surprised me). From reading the t&c's they can alter the daily standing rate though, which they have done in the past but was minimal. I believe it was when fuel prices went through the roof and they justified it by saying it was unforeseen additional costs. anyway the s/c on my new contract is back down to a lower rate.

Our Flogas contract ends 6th Jan, we're currently paying £0.33 + vat pl.

received letter dated 7th December stating if we don't sign a new contract then the default it £0.75 pl + vat, plus £75 delivery surcharge but the 'special offer' is £0.68 pl with no mention of the delivery charge.

Then received email 15th December with a special offer of £0.50pl + vat for year 1, no mention of year 2 but need we need to sign up within 7 days or the offer is rescinded.  It's like dealing with a 1980's double glazing sales person.

We're awaiting a tank top-up which should see us through to March so will wait and see what happens, but it would be good to know what people are currently being offered.

Personally, if it was me and you can get a reasonable 2nd year price out of them I would sign at 50 ppl. I may be wrong but suspect you will struggle to get another lower at present. All comes down to how much time and effort you are prepared to put in, but you need to find out about the 2nd year price beforehand obviously.
I recently signed with Flogas at 51 ppl fixed for 2 years for comparison. That is SE England with approx 3,000 annual usage.

I agree with kassy64 although I would be very wary about signing if it's a 2 year contract AND the 2nd year is variable. If it's a 1 year contract fixed at 50ppl I would probably take it if it were me, but be wary of any additional clauses and you might have to be a bit savvy on when you schedule a top up before the end of the contract to get the most out of the 50ppl rate.  For a 2 year contract you should be able to at least get year 2 capped (or fixed if you're as good at negotiating as kassy64!).  If you sign an agreement for variable in year 2 there is no limit to how much they can then increase the ppl, I would avoid that as much as I could. Let us know how you get on :)
  • Anyone here getting LPG on a metered estate? (shared central tank). Currently paying 49ppl but supplier is raising it yet another 8p as they say their supplier at Mossmorran Terminal in Fife has suddenly said they won't supply them any more as they can sell to Europe at much higher prices !!  :s So, they say they've had to go to other UK suppliers to source supplies and this is driving price back up. I presume this increase will filter down to people with their own individual LPG tanks as well?

  • The £200 payment for alternative fuel should be received this month via your electric supplier. I’d be interested if and when anyone receives it.
  • just spoken to UWDC (my electicity supplier) about the alternative fuel payment (Domestic Oil, in my case). They are aware of the scheme but have 'no instructions as to how to apply it' and 'have no way of knowing how to judge who is entitled to it'; they don't have a database of Oil Users - why would they??
they say that they're awaiting government advice.
    Anyone any thoughts/knowledge please?

Ditto, spoke to Southern electric (I am on LPG) I provided them with proof ie last bill, but they said they don’t when and how this will be done

Octopus originally told me the credits were being made on 1st Feb.  The friendly person I spoke to at Octopus today knew all about the payments and said they're being credited sporadically, eligible customers are not all receiving them at the same time, they expect all customers to have received their credit by the end of Feb
