Vanquis Savings Bank - no payment showing
I set up an ISA and paid £100 in on Monday. Now it's Thursday and no payment is showing up. It should have been there by the end of Tuesday. Have sent 2 messages to Vanquis Savings Bank - no replies so far. Any suggestions?

Problem transferring money from Co-Operative bank to Tembo ISA
Hi folks, has anyone had problems paying money into a Tembo Bank ISA from their Co-Operative Bank current account. I can't find a way of doing this and the email string with Tembo customer services offers little in the way of clear instruction. Co-Operative Bank is not part of the open banking which is what I think the…

Failed sign up on Revolut
I tried signing up to Revolut and got as far as taking
pictures with head turned to the side. At the point I became utterly frustrated
after many attempts and gave up the process. However prior to that point I
supplied Revolut with an awful lot of personal information e.g. driving
licence, name address telephone no. etc. I…

Additional £5000 Personal Savings Allowance
I understand the rules for how low income earners may have additional tax free savings allowance and so my only query is if someone has never completed a self assessment tax form and does not earn a "job income" (only a small private pension) will they become liable to have to complete a self assessment tax form? If no…

Crypto investing living in a foreign country.
If anyone has any ideas about this……..I am English living abroad and trying to trade but it seems quite complicated!? I have KYC verified with MEXC (with UK passport) but my money is in a local bank in another currency, which most of their 3rd parties don’t accept! Investment Scam Ads still on Facebook
Posting because my elderly mother (she’s 79) has just been caught out by an “investment” ad on Facebook featuring Piers Morgan. The ad appeared on her Facebook feed in late January. I know this is something that MSE have campaigned against and tried to get Facebook to take responsibility as a publisher to properly police…

Renewal of Index-linked Savings Certificates and death of holder query.
The latest information from NS&I advises of changes in the operation of Index-linked certificates one of which is the "No access during the term" rule. The only informatiion given about the death of a certificate holder is if the holder dies, the Cerificate will become part of the Holder's estate and the Certificate will…

I've a Santander 123 account, should I move to Edge?
I've had a regular 123 account for years, though I know it gradually became less attractive I just never got round to changing things. I've realised these days it's not even offered to new customers. The 123 account was great since I have a Santander mortgage and all my bills, council tax though I am due to remortgage soon…

Which gilt dealing service provides the best overall execution price for gilt trades?
I am currently using HSBC Investdirect as an online broker to invest in gilts, mostly index linked gilts. They provide a good service and generally the price I pay for gilts is somewhat better than the 'offer' price quoted by the LSE (London Stock Exchange). They charge a brokerage fee of £40 per trade. I wonder if there…

Isn't gold an alternative?
I've been thinking/reading about the pros and cons of alternatives and came across this Harvard article which shows these seven types:No gold. Why not? It might not meet all the paper's key characteristics of alternatives which is lists as: i) more lightly regulated, ii) illiquid, and iii) low correlation with standard…

Who writes this rubbish?
LISA down 13% and ISA down 16.5%. The amount he has lost in total as a percentage is between those two figures. Adding the percentages up is nonsense. 😂😂😂 No wonder the general populace struggles with finance.

Have I understood gilts?
So if bought in an ISA wrapper, based on buying and selling in one full year, using this gilt as an example: https://www.ii.co.uk/bonds/6-treasury-stock-2028/LSE:TR28 18,382 bought at 1.0880 on April 1st 2024 = £19,999.61 (initial investment) + 6% = £21,199.59 (difference = £1,199.98) 18,382 sold at 1.0668 on April 1st…

Cash Savings hubs
Does anyone here have any feedback or comments about the cash savings hubs available from AJ Bell, Interactive Investor and elsewhere? These seem to allow you to deposit your money in a kind of sweep account and then put it into the (claimed) best fixed term or notice savings accounts automatically - the idea is to make it…

How to Bed & ISA
I'd like to sell £20k of VVAAAT from my GIA with iWeb to buy £20k of FWRG in my trading 212 S&S ISA. In the past, I used the same platform and fund, so I just paid in £20k cash into the S&S ISA and bought/sold on the same day so got the same price. I have £20k cash to do this again however, this time I'm selling a fund and…

Was it the right time?
Off the back of all the threads asking if now is the right time to invest or if a mistake was made investing etc I wondered if anyone had previously wondered if they were doing the right thing and would have done anything different with hindsight. I don't have the advantage of ten plus years yet but here is my example. In…
