I've a stupid question - sorry
I am about to apply for an ISA with Northern Rock, fixed for 3 years 3.5%. I want to move the funds from the current ISA I have with A&L as that is only around 1.5%. I have just over £13500 to move. This includes this years allowance. I know about transferring it properly and have downloaded the correct forms from their…

Nationwide e-Savings Question
Hi Guys, I've had a Nationwide e-Savings account since back in July (when it paid a reasonable 5.05% AER). However, with it going down tomorrow to a paltry 1.45% AER, I've decided enough is enough and to move it elsewhere. My question is, since interest is paid annually on 31st March, will I still have to keep a nominal…

Simple savings question
Hi, Sorry if this is a really simple question, I have had a read at the website, a lot to take in! Basically I am student, I want to save some money up to buy things, a new laptop/PC. The catch is I would like instant access with no penalties on interest, also monthly interest payments instead of annual. Not really sure…

I have money with PO but angry re Irish position. Money with Tesco but postings here regularly seem to slate them. Money with Northern Rock without problem. I now need to put some other money somewhere and was reading back posts and the YBS seem to be spoken about quite well. Is this still the case? I am not chasing, and…

Capita Tracing Solutions - share payment due
A letter has turned up out of the blue, and it seems I'm owed a small amount of money :) It's from Capita Tracing Solutions about a tiny number of shares (50 only) which I held some years ago. The letter says: We are writing to you in connection with an unclaimed cash amount in your name. According to our records you have…

Tesco savings account difficult to access
I recently opened a Tesco Internet Saver account for which Tesco claims "You will have instant access to your funds and there are no restrictions on the number of withdrawals you can make". Perhaps, but there are restrictions on the amount that you can transfer and it is not instant. Today I attempted to make a withdrawal.…

Making Money on my Mortgage
I applied for Birmingham Midshires Fixed Rate savings 1 year at 6.85%. I did not have the funds available so transferred £50000 from my offset mortgage account to temporarily cover the deposit. Zopa in the current climate
I was wondering what people's thoughts are on Zopa. I have looked into it in the past, and think it is a very interesting concept, but have opted not to put in money because returns were similar to (if not below) top paying savings accounts. Following recent rate cuts this is no longer the case, which makes me wonder…

Alliance and Leicester ESaver 2
I have an Alliance and Leicester ESaver2 and I am looking to withdraw the funds and put them into a fixed rate account that I hold. Shorting Hong Kong/Chinese shares? Anyone knows how?
Hi all, Basically I have good knowledge about the companies in Hong Kong and China, and I think that about 70% of them are SUPER EXTREMELY UTTER over priced. Take Alibaba as an example, what a stupid company. IPO with PE of 100? A company that doesn't actually generate income? A website that is flooded with fraudsters?…
