Nationwide e-Savings Question

Hi Guys,
I've had a Nationwide e-Savings account since back in July (when it paid a reasonable 5.05% AER). However, with it going down tomorrow to a paltry 1.45% AER, I've decided enough is enough and to move it elsewhere.
My question is, since interest is paid annually on 31st March, will I still have to keep a nominal balance (eg £1) in the account to still get my interest for the year?
Cheers
John

You should get interest paid and everything will be transferred to your flexaccount so you don't need to keep a token balance.0

Probably a stupid question but I am in a similar position - how do you close an e-savings account? Should I just contact customer services?Mortgage when started October 2011 : £94,134

I would say keep it open with a nominal £100 in the account; they might end paying you if the directors decide they can make more if they demutaulise. Unless I have missed something, they still need your vote whether or not you signed a waver."How could I have been so mistaken as to trust the experts" - John F Kennedy 19620 -
To close, select the e-account you want to close and when the details come up select other services from menu on left.0

I went for an e-bond with a nominal amount to be my 'holding' account at Nationwide. The rates on this will best the variable accounts and you can't make a 'mistake' by drawing it out...
Agree, its well worth keeping a "holding" account at Nationwide - might come to nothing, but you never know."How could I have been so mistaken as to trust the experts" - John F Kennedy 19620 -
I've got other accounts with them such a couple of e-bonds and a mortgage so I should be OK?Mortgage when started October 2011 : £94,134
