Advice on the best bank account for ad-hoc use?
Basically I want to get an account set up for general spending use. I will be inputting cash when I have it spare but also will need a switch/visa/mastercard, etc... for spending. changing 20,000 euros into pounds?
I have an account in cyprus that has 20,000 euroes. What is the best way of converting it to pounds? 1. basc / chaps to a uk account? if yes then which? nationwide? 2. take it out it cash and then convert it in the post office....:eek: 3. some other way that is better? Thanks so much for your help.

FirstSave rate drop Q?
We pulled our savings from A&L e-saver and opened a FirstSave fixed term on 5 Feb @ 4.25%. Everything went smooth and the money is due to be transferred on 16 Feb by DD. The rate dropped on Feb 6 to 3.6%, will we still get it at the 4.25 rate as the money has not yet gone into the account?

I would like to know...How come Norwich & Peterborough BS let me transfer £50K in one day into an ESaver account held with them? Yet when I want to transfer out, I'm limited to £10K a day. Very frustrating.
