I have an account in cyprus that has 20,000 euroes.
What is the best way of converting it to pounds?
1. basc / chaps to a uk account? if yes then which? nationwide?
2. take it out it cash and then convert it in the post office....
3. some other way that is better?
Thanks so much for your help.

doing a bank transfer will probably get you a better rate than cash (and is more secure) I think something called a SWIFT transfer and if you pay it into Nationwide they wont charge- I transferred some euros from abroad that way to NW no problems and that is what i was advised (not quite as much though) you prob should check if the bank in Cyprus will charge though.0

Entering the UK carrying €20k in cash could give some problems if you get stopped!
P.S. Visiting any UK financial institution with €20k in cash is not advised.0 -
Most of the Cypriot banks as you know have branches over here - just arrange for them to put it into a Sterling A/C.0

I've used www.currencies.co.uk before, found they provide good service and rates.0
