Vet consultation fees
Our Vet consultation fees have just gone up again and I am thinking of going elsewhere. Someone suggested vet in Pets at Home and I wondered if anyone happens to know what their fees are please?

Petcare While Moving
We've moving house on Thursday and had lined up the inlaws to look after our two dogs from the morning of the move to the following day. Unfortunately FIL has been in hospital (happily he's going to be OK) but is understandably a bit nervous about having them around while he's still a bit unsteady. Other options…

Good quality, inexpensive, cat food?
I'm currently spending £40 per month on MACs from zooplus for my cat. I used to spend £30 at Happy Kitty Company, but it's shut down now. I was wondering if there was a cheaper alternative that was still good quality? Maybe one I can buy from a supermarket/pets at home instead of online?

Cat Spray stain removal suggestions
As the title says, one of my cats has sprayed 2 veins (of my relatively new) set of vertical blinds! As they are quite new I am reluctant to put them all into soak in warm water or into the washing machine. I have tried to lightly remove the stained area with a damp cloth, fairy liquid and today dilute vanish dabbed on.…

Dogs playing tug-of-war and it goes too far
Hello team Not really a money-saving question, but hopefully you have some advice anyway. We have a dog who's 8, male, and liked to rule the roost. He has a thing for his head/face, no-one is allowed to touch it or get close (except us). Last week we got a second dog, female, 2, and very tiny. We ensured she had the…

cat tracker recommendations?
One of my beloved cats is missing, and I really want to get cat trackers for my other 2. Idid try the Loc8or a few years ago, but it was a flawed design as it emitted a high pitch noise on their collars and they freaked out so I didn't use it.. the technology must've improved significantly since then.. Any recommendations…

Neighbours complain about dog wee on YARD.
So we recently moved in above a deli and a hairdressers. We have a dog and a shared back YARD. No grass, solid concrete. We pick up her mess two or three times a day. One of the neighbours (wouldn't give name or workplace) has just asked us to WASH THE YARD every time the dog has a wee! Which is usually first thing in the…

Unhappy rescue cat? Advice
Hi Guys, Just posting here for a bit of discussion really, not sure if I'll be able to come to a conclusion based on your responses but I'd like some people to discuss this with as none of my friends have pets! To give some back story, my partner has always had cats. I was never allowed pets growing up as my dad was a…

Ticks (and of course fleas)
I just wondered what other people consider to be the best spot on treatment to kill ticks. Last year when our dog had fleas we eventually managed to get rid of them using Advantage, but have now gone back to Frontline spot on because that also gives the protection against ticks. He also has Billy No Mates in his food which…

Pet insurance - hindsight
I took out insurance for our puppy last year and thought there is no way he is going to need any treatment for years, so just got a basic 12 month per condition policy. He has developed a bit of stiffness/lameness on getting up after he has been resting, so took him to the vet and they have said could be elbow dysplasia /…

E-liquid and cats. Is there any danger?
I have a hyperactive young cat that plays with everything he sees. My new roommate vapes and yesterday I saw how my pet was playing with empty e-liquid bottle and probably gnawed one. I’m worried about my cat, according to the article on VapingDaily it’s not safe for him, but he is still active now and has the appetite. I…

KC dog photos
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5959239/Some-stunning-photos-mans-best-friend-loved-world.html Kennel Club dog photos of the year. Yes Daily Mail, yes Kennel Club, but those photos, absolutely gorgeous. I really couldn't pick a favourite, (though the pom looking out of a rainy window looked a lot like my Heidi!)

Moving home with the furball
Hi everyone, happy Friday! I’m sorry for the long post! I wonder if any of you would mind giving me some advice on a house move with my cat please. In 2016, I went travelling for 1.5 years and my parents kindly took my cat in whilst I was away. I came back in January of this year, into an agreement that I’d be living at…

Cold treats for dogs (ice lollies)
I am looking for ideas for ice treats for my dog, I currently just have 2 on the menu that he likes apart from plain ice cubes. Frozen Yoghurt with some of his biscuits crumbled in or choc drops or apple bits (or any combination). Banana mixed with peanut butter, honey and some water, again with some kind of treat mixed in…

getting rid of fleas with no pets in house
I have seen fleas in the house :( We do not have any pets but do have a visiting cat who has not been in our house for ages. I think the fleas may have hatched from last year when cat visited more often and brought them in. How do I get rid of them with no animals in the house? Last year I treated visiting cat and that…

A cat seems to be living under our shed
Hello, Just wondering what to do. I've noticed a cat moving around the back of our garden a few times. Not thought much of it. It's not causing any problems and although my dog has noticed it, she's not behaved aggressively towards it and the cat has always scarpered before the dog could get too close (dog is very nosey).…
