FSCS protection and ringfencing.
Hello, I'm new to money saving and looking for a good ISA. I have seen the Plum Cash ISA with 4.45% AER. This ISA has 3.04% base rate protected by the FSCS safety scheme and the 1.33% not protected by FSCS but is 'ringfenced'. Can someone explain the safety behind getting this ISA? Does the FSCS protection mean in the case…

S&S ISA or 5 Year Fixed Cash ISA
I'm looking to give my daughter £20K to put into a ISA as funding towards school fees when my 5 year old granddaughter reaches her 11th birthday. I was looking at Castle Trust Bank, 5 year Fixed Cash ISA at 4.22%. I have thought but not seriously considered the Vanguard LifeStrategy 20 fund as an alternative. Has anyone…

Student loan
My daughter has taken out a student loan for £9000 because she was going to move out of the home and rent but has not been able too so is staying at home. Would it be worth putting the 9k into a life ISA so she can potentially have a deposit for a place once she graduates and has a job?

Transferring a Cash ISA
Am I the only one who feel how unsecured the system to transfer a cash ISA is? So I have a cash ISA with Lloyds that matured. Looked around and found a good rate with Tesco. Open the ISA and requested the details to transfer. Received a letter with some forms. They are asking to post to them some forms which include my…

Turning 18 and ISA allowance
My son is turning 18 next month and has used his Junior ISA allowance for 25/26. When he is 18 does he get the full adult allowance of 20k for the remainder of 25/26 or does he need to wait for the 26/27 tax year to invest?

Not subscribing to an ISA - it gets cancelled?
For my father, he received the following letter from Nationwide. HM Rules state that if you don't subscribe to your ISA for a whole Tax year or more you're required to complete an ISA renewal before you can start making subscriptions again. We have not received a response to our letter therefore to ensure that the ISA…

Moving Nationwide cash ISA?
My current Nationwide cash ISA is due to end in a month. It's going to be moved to an instant access lower rate ISA with them, by them. I thought I could just open a new (better interest) ISA with them and transfer the old ISA money across. But the highlighted paragraph below seems to say I need to open it from another…

Method of paying interest on ISA.
My wife’s ISA interest is being paid by Barclays in the form of a cheque. As paying in the cheque via our iPhones or iPad has never worked, it’s a huge inconvenience with no Branches open near us. I assume she mistakenly chose this option when she opened the ISA. Can we change this arrangement to paying it into another…

RBS / NatWest ISA
Has anyone else opened one of these Fixed rate ISAs recently and transferred in? It seems a bit odd as normally you do get transfers acknowledgment. I…
