policy start date
I feel stupid having to ask here, but I'm struggling to find the answer on either of the two Insurer's web sites or anywhere else and this feels like it should be a common question - I'm changing home insurers after a 30% hike in my premium, the old policy ends in 31/7 - is that the start of the day or the end of the day ?…

Car insurance paid for repair rather than writing car off
I have had my car since August 2023, in December I had a car accident which went down as my fault as I did not have a dash cam to prove that it was joint fault. Regardless, the car was repaired but this took a lengthy time due to waiting for parts from Japan. I had another problem with the car in May (flat battery, likely…

Insurance when you rent out your whole house but live there 50 per cent of the time...
I have really found it hard to find insurance if you want to rent your house out for half the time (or thereabouts) as I can stay with my partner. The only insurer I can find to do this is PIKL who cover well for everything but quite expensive. I am sure other people must do this, any other companies that anyone knows?

Contents Insurance help needed
Hi, Ive only ever claimed once prior on my homes contents insurance so im expert, but it was straight forward - I paid the excess and they replaced like for like (TV). Hi I work for a well known delivery firm on a self employed basis. We are subject to paying 20% vat on insurance premiums if we lease a vehicle through them. Car insurance on commercial vehicle for private individual
We have had our “truck” insured with Privilege for the last few years as they have been the only insurer we have found who can offer insurance on a vehicle classed as a van, to me as a private individual. Are there others? Really want to make sure we are getting a good deal by comparing cost.

My insurer asked if I could provide an weblink to replace an item. I was unable to find this but sent 2x quotes from 2 contractors. The insurance company agreed to pay a cash settlement for the lower of the 2 quotes. But now I am unable to contact that contractor. Am I obliged to use this contractor? Or can I go elsewhere…

Claim Against Me For Vehicle Diminution
A few months ago I was involved in a very, very minor vehicle accident that was my fault caused when I reversed out of a parking space at what must've been less than 5mph and bumped/scraped the wing and bumper of a car right behind me but barely a scfatch on my car. I swapped details with the other party and we were both…

Getting the Quote
I'm on Confused and Moneysupermarket for a quote. Would we consider the lowest quotes (reliable Cos like Darwin and LV=) 'cheap' quotes? Their prices means I hold my cost to last years price. Very tempting.

Hello all you knowledgeable people, I hope you can help. a few weeks ago my husband was hit in the rear by a company vehicle, no liability disputed, we went directly through third party insurers and had the vehicle inspected.
