Confused.com reward on cancelled policy

I took out car insurance the day before fully intending to collect a car. The sale did not go through and I rang to cancel the policy later on in the afternoon (on the day the policy started). I'm surprised to get an email telling me I've got a £20 Sainsbury's voucher - I was expecting the reward to fail.

The Confused terms states that the reward is not payable if the insurance is cancelled within the cancellation period. It doesn't refer to a policy being cancelled within the 14 day cooling off period.

Should I claim the reward?

    It will probably be rescinded once the insurer feeds back its been cancelled

    Even though you're within the 14 day cooling off period you can still expect to pay a cancellation fee and one day's insurance, which isn't necessarily 1/365 of the annual premium.
