Warranty on car repair

I have had my car repaired by the insurance approved repairer following an accident. However, the guarantee for the repair work is only valid if I remain with my current insurer.
Can they do that? I wasn't made aware of that as the insurance company arranged everything but basically if I get any issues related to the repair I will have to pay.
