Are dentists dishonest or is it guesswork?
I went for at least 10 years without going to the dentist and had no pain or problems whatsoever. Eventually my wisdom teeth were getting sore and when the dentist found out it had been 10 years since my last checkup, she poked around and done a full set of X-rays, etc. She claimed that I needed 5 fillings replaced, 3 new…

Different eye test?
Is there a different way to have ones eyes tested other than the machine with the black dots? I had awful trouble taking the test last time as I couldn't distinguish which dots were clearer or sharper. One set of dots were round but blurry edged, the other dots were elongated like an egg with not so much blurring around…

Root canal on tooth
Will have a root canal on my canine tooth via the NHS. I have read that molars are are rarely done on the NHS because they are more complex and root canals on molars should usually be following by having a crown too. Will a root canal on a canine tooth need a crown?

Reusable sanitary pads
Has anyone used reusable sanitary pads? What are the practicalities day to day, particularly when out and about? I'm not sure I'll be comfortable washing them out in the sink at work so do you carry them around all day? Not sure hubby would be keen on the idea of them in the wash with our clothes either. Any brand people…

Tiring as you grow okder
i'm interested in the theory that one automatically tires more quickly as one grows older and wonder how tired people get as they age? What time does the average, 60, 70 or 80 go to bed? Do they find themselves falling asleep in the armchair in the early evening? Is the loss of energetic automatic as you grow older?…

David Lloyd Saving
Hi All, I just found out about a fantastic money save for David Lloyd. I purchased a not publicised Founder Membership deal from David Lloyd in Sudbury Hill and I now pay £97 a month for me and my partner and two kids to go to David Lloyd. That works out less than the council gym. What is even better is that I can use any…

To the young lady who posted about Breast reduction
I do not know if you will see this but I was just replying when your thread was made invalid. Looking at your crowdfunding page the picture does not help IMO. It might help if people could see the problem. However, I think you might do better if you contact one of those'true story' mags and they might be prepared to do an…

Glasses sizing (lens diameter etc) - how does it work
I have a pair of Oakley C-Wire with clear lenses which are 61-16-127 and also had a pair of Oakley Straight Jacket with brown polarised sunglass lenses 61-18-135. I bent the C-Wires so they are a bit fallen apart. The Straight Jackets fit very well but I've lost them and I don't want to pay £300 for a new pair. I'm trying…

Slimming through the Winter - Slimming World support thread 2019
Shiny new thread, with all the info carried over as follows:- Slimming World and Food Optimising is a plan for life, it's not a quick fix and you should look at weight losses over a period of time. There are no prizes for speed of weight loss. You need to commit to making changes to the food that you buy and how you cook…

Hi all Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere I was unable to find anything on it. NHS Dental Work question
So I need to have a tooth taken out. I've just been put on the waiting list for the South West and I was wondering; If I needed a dental bridge but don't have the teeth to anchor it onto, would the NHS provide a dental implant? I'm asking because the tooth I need out is the furthest back on my right which became really…

Economical body lotion
I seem to use quite a lot of body lotion as I use it after every shower. This is proving quite expensive and Tesco seem to have stopped selling their own brand which was very reasonable. Can anyone recommend a body lotion which is good value and not too highly perfumed or anything ? I actually really like Aveeno but that…
