Are vouchers worth it
Just had a meal at local hungry horse. Tried using vouchers. Couldn't use my Blue light discount as I'd ordered 2 for 12.50 but also another meal and desserts and drinks. then told I couldn't use my tesco vouchers either as can't combine with any meal deals! Waste of time unless I order all meals at full price. Anyone else…

VUE Imax on Saturday screening
Hi, Not sure if there is an offer out there, but you don't ask you don't get, right? Anyone aware of any deals on IMAX screening at Vue cinemas on Saturday? I have generally cheaper tickets through work, but even though I can get VIP seats or Saver seats cheaper, all of them say "valid for any 2D screening". The film we…

Service charge in restaurants - yes or no?
I dislike service charges in restaurants/bars with a passion. Where does everyone else stand on this? I realise 'fancy' places and most places in London d this, but the practice is pervading many other areas of the UK now. This is not in our culture here in the UK - in London, many restaurants are owned by foreigners, who…

Tipping in restaurants
Is tipping in restaurants still done or is this now an out of date tradition? (Not clear to me why it was ever a tradition) Personally i cant see why i would tip anybody (not just catering staff) unless i had received a good service. Surely tipping everybody is counterproductive i.e there is no difference between staff.

Do you tip in restaurants?
Wasn't sure if this was the right place to put this, so admin, please move if needed. Do you guys (and girls) tip when you go for a meal out? Personally I hate the idea, and it's even worse when you've got the waiter standing next to you as you select "No" on the card machine. However, I always say that I don't get tips…

Gardeners' World 2-for-1 at Leeds Castle
Has anyone managed to find out how the Gardeners' World 2-for-1 scheme works for Leeds Castle? In particular, Leeds Castle's website says "Pay for a day and visit free all year" which sounds like annual passes, and Gardeners' World's web page for the site says "Get one free entry with one full-paying adult".…

Money Moral Dilemma: Should we keep splitting restaurant bills with friends that have kids?
This week's MoneySaver who wants advice asks... For many years, we've socialised as a couple with a large group, which now includes many children of all ages. We're the only couple that don't have kids. We've always split restaurant bills equally, yet now some of the older kids eat more than the grown-ups and soft drinks…
