Gardeners' World 2-for-1 at Leeds Castle

Has anyone managed to find out how the Gardeners' World 2-for-1 scheme works for Leeds Castle?
In particular, Leeds Castle's website says "Pay for a day and visit free all year" which sounds like annual passes, and Gardeners' World's web page for the site says "Get one free entry with one full-paying adult".
https://www.gardenersworld.com/2-for-1-gardens/south-east-england/leeds-castle-2-for-1-entry/
Does that mean that if I buy online I should buy just one ticket and that it will permit two of us entry (as long as I show the Gardeners' World card at the gate), or should I 'buy' two tickets online and only pay for one of them when we arrive at the gate?
And will that ticket / those tickets allow both of us to visit multiple times in the year?
I am keen to find out before we first go (hence the question) as I want the trip to be a surprise to my other half. As you can imagine, I don't want the trip to be spoiled by some kind of disappointment on the day!
So any guidance would be welcome!
TIA,
James

Check it’s not an event day, as well.If you buy online, you pay online. You can’t reserve a ticket and pay on the gate.
I have used the gardeners world two for one there but because it was awhile ago. I can’t actually remember how it worked. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
