Identify this (box of sweets, one sour)
Hi A few Xmases ago, someone gave me a box of chocolate sweets; there were about 9 in total. Anyway, the crux was, 7 were as you'd expect, rather nice chocolate. But two were kind of booby trap things, whereby they were very bad tasting. It was meant to be a funny thing. Anyway. Does anyone know what I'm on about? If so,…

Best Shop Curry.
I have only recently discovered the "Whistling Chef" microwaveable meals. They are really lovely, easily the best shop curry I have ever tasted. Absolutely full of flavour and IMO, close to restaurant standard. I get them in Londis for £2.99 and I also love the "Veetee" basmati rice which is a good sized portion,…

My offer started on 21 October and I managed to spend what they wanted in the next 4 weeks, but I haven't heard anything since and searching for it online is…

Cheap plonk
Could we please have a thread listing all the cheap plonk at the different supermarkets? I like wine, but my palate (or my pocket) does not appreciate the expensive wine. I am more than happy to quaff plonk if I like the taste. I am not thinking of the low alcohol wines.

Cheap carrots anyone??
I was in our local agricultural store at the weekend and they had carrots on sale for horsey people. 12.5 kg of washed carrots in a net bag for £3! I was sorely tempted, I imagine carrots process and freeze really well. In fact I might go back and see if they still have some next week :p

Online grocery shopping-use-by dates
If you have your shopping delivered, e.g. on a Friday, what do you consider to be a reasonable use-by date for food items? I have been put off recently by short use-by dates but wondered if I am being fussy. In my opinion, I should be able to eke out my food items for the rest of the week, i.e. till next delivery. I know…
