Expired BOGOF deals

Where do we stand with shelves with incorrect (usually expired) BOGOF/3for2 etc deals still advertised on them? It seems to be reaching epidemic level and I had at least a dozen examples in 2013. As every supermarket has zillions of offers etc, they don't seem to be able to keep up with taking the promo advertising down at the right time. I've always had the deal honoured and been given the cheaper price but I'm getting a bit fed up with wasting the 15 minutes going to customer services and then back through the store to show them the promo label on the shelf. Any way I can get the supermarkets to improve?

Legally the shelf price is an invitation to you to offer the vendor this price. The vendor does not have to accept your offer. The only thing that is constant is change.0 -
yeah it's just the bogof/deal influences my choice of product, so, if nothing else, it wastes my time going for a refund etc.0

Complain to Head Office or via Twitter, Facebook or email the customer service dept for the respective supermarket. You could go for the option of camping outside the Head Office but thats a bit extreme.0

True, but they must also not mislead you into making a decision to buy. Having a sign that says "BOGOF" then charging you for both items at the till is seen as misleading, if the shop can't prove it was an error. So most, if not all, will honour the BOGOFF deal.0 -

This has been my experience also, and in the case of Asda I get a £2 gift card as well, hope they keep it up :rotfl:Slimming World at target0
