Holiday pay
Hi, long time lurker first time posting. I’m currently in what can only be called a “battle” with my employer over holiday pay and don’t know where to turn next. I’m contracted to do 40hrs a week but do at least 45-50hrs every week sometimes up to 80hrs when it’s busy. We plan our own days/workload so the overtime is…

I have been offered a new job through an agency which states the pay is PAYE within IR35, and given me the hourly rate. What does IR35 mean and how does it affect my take home pay? Or do I just work out the usual PAYE deductions etc to calculate my take home? Thanks

How long should you retain wage slips?
Having lost these before and having to go through the messy, annoying process of recovering income statements from the ever-friendly folks at HMRC, I'm interested in how long people think you should retain wage slips from employment? Should you just keep them to the end of the tax year? Should you keep them for six years?…

Seasonal work outdated?
Workplaces have changed considerably over the last 150 years. There are many companies who employ extra people at certain times of the year, but can't afford them to be permanent members of staff in the lean weeks/ months. The flexibility of seasonal work has historically given individuals freedom to choose their time when…
