Nationwide credit card complaint
Owed 494.12 on my cc, paid it bar £25 the day I got the statement from NW. I assumed it would take the £25 anyway as my dd is set to that, and my Sainsbury’s cc does that, but it didn’t. No issues with that, as it was a misunderstanding n my part, however I disputed the 7.12 interest on a 25 quid debt. Lass I spoke to said…

Charge back - non refundable tickets
Hi, Sorry if wrong thread. Realised today that tickets have been booked for an event on a day we cannot go, I asked the venue if we could swap dates and they have said no. Would it be possible to do a charge back on my credit card? Event was over £70 and we absolutely cannot make the date. Thanks M x

First ever Credit Card at 51.
My partner has somehow managed to get to the age of 51 without a credit card or indeed any credit at all. We've just tried a soft application for the Barclay card and have been declined. She's joined the MSE Credit Club and her score is just in the excellent bracket. We currently rent and she's had no credit before so I…

NatWest 0% balance transfer 0% chance of approval
Hi, I was going to shift a balance but thought I would try the eligibility on here first. I wanted the Natwest card above 0% for 14 months then 24.9%. Oddly it says 0% chance of approval. Then below this card literally 10 other good 0% cards that are 100% pre approved. I have a great credit score, never defaulted, earn…

Best card for spending in USA
We are hoping to book Orlando next summer and I wanted a credit card for using out there. My current Halifax credit card is poor for fees and conversion rate. I plan to pay it off within a month or two at most coming back so could manage a higher rate? Any suggestions?

Section 75
Hi I have looked at several pages but I am unsure where I stand. I have opened a Credit Agreement with Creation Finance on behalf of Curry's which has been signed and is opened in line with the Consumer Credit Act. This was opened to make a purchase but I have since bought something else on Buy Now Pay Later. My only…

0% Eligibility
Had a look through a few eligibility checkers recently and noticed they all give me a 0% chance of getting any cards, I feel a little confused by this as I currently have credit cards, three actually and paying them/managing them well so I’m confused as to why such a cold reply from these checkers, I do have defaults on my…

HSBC credit card application
Having treated myself to a rather pricey item on a credit card I decided to apply for an HSBC card to do a balance transfer. First issue is that their application is not friendly to anyone without traditional earned income but got over that. Then a few days later I realised I hadn't received an email or sms confirmation of…

Balance transfer CC
Hi everyone. I'm new to balance transfer CC, could someone please confirm if I understand it correctly? I've got 2 regular credit cards always paid in full every month! This month due to some unexpected circumstances I had to spend around £6000 on them (£15000 combined limit). I can't just pay that at the due date but also…

Can't get a credit card
I am helping my wife build some credit but we're struggling. We have applied for 2/3 credit cards in recent months (even the ones where requirements are very low), and yet, she was declined. She is a homemaker so doesn't have an income. Any advice would be most appreciated. Thanks

Section 74 - used car - 15 months on
Hi folks, So - we have a car that has had ENDLESS issues. Lots repaired under warranty. Some bits that they never managed to identify. I have paid several £1000 to the same garage for repairs over the last 15 months including failing its MOT. Asked them to buy it back (refused) and its starting another issue now. I paid…

Is there some major financial benefits to the banks of issuing new cards?
I have a BoS card with a very low limit and was waiting the 3 months to ask for an increase. Meanwhile Halifax and Lloyds pre approved me for a £2000 limit on a new card. When I applied BoS refused to offer me any increase whatsoever to my credit limit. After saying no a thing popped up in the app asking me if I want a 2nd…

Should I pay off in full now or wait until just before the 0% deal ends
I have just over £4K in credit card debt which was transferred to a 0% card in April of this year. The 0% deal runs out in October 2024. I have been paying this off at a rate of about £200 a month and I have no intention of spending on this card. Recently I am in a position to pay that debt (my only debt) off in full.…

Paying for Building work over 30k
My daughter is having an extension & cost is 40k so over limit for credit card section 75 so what would be the best/safest way to pay? They have arranged to pay after each ‘stage’ so it’s split up into small amounts but presumably this wouldn’t count as separate works & therefore covered thanks for any advice

Onmo - anyone else on here use them
Firstly my credit rating is very poor owing to bad financial decisions in past. I have one credit card at moment which has £200 limit which is clear by the way as I always use it then pay it in full at each month. Happened to check my clearscore earlier on offers and saw I was preapproved for a new credit card with onmo. I…

Section 75 and car trade-in
Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act protects purchases, where a credit card is used, for an item that costs between £100 and £30,000. A purchase over that limits is not covered - at all. Does anyone know if Sections 75 provides protection if, say, you pay £23,000 and trade in your old car for £12,000 - giving a total…
