Returning SEISS Grant problems.
After realising I should not have claimed the 4th SEISS grant I have today submitted my request to return the grant via Gov.uk. But when I tried to make the repayment via online banking the details are not correct. According to HMRC it should read Sort Code 20-26-48 Account No 23823792 Name HMRC SEISS Receipts But when i…

Is redundancy pay based on your usual salary or furlough salary?
Hi all, I have come across so much conflicting advice but hoping someone can make this clear for me please? My husband has been on furlough since May 2020, this week he was given notice of his redundancy. Should his redundancy pay be based on his Pre-furlough salary or the salary he has received whilst on furlough please?…

5th SEISS Grant and Agency work
My business like many took a huge hit as a result of Covid but I was fortunate enough to get Agency work for at least 1 year (contract ends May 2022). I have not closed down my business in case I cannot get the contract renewed, my business picks up or possibly permanent work. I have had no income through my business since…

My wife and I are double vaccinated, daughter is single vaccinated. Cant find advice anywhere on-line. Question: If the…

SEISS as turnover?
Your useful guidance on applying for the fifth grant does contain a significant anomaly. In one area You say that “ The grants WILL be included when calculating the profits or loss of your business”But, later on in the article you say “ Turnover includes takings, fees, sales or money earned by your business. You should NOT…

SEISS 5 Grant Confusion
Can anyone explain this? The 5th SEISS grant covers the period between 1st May and 30th September 2021 - 5 Months According to HMRC/Gov.UK we'll be able to claim a grant worth 80% (or 30%) of THREE MONTHS average trading profits. What has happened to the other two months?

SEISS 5
Hi, first post on here, joined, as I'm confused on what to do to claim 5th grant. I've noticed it says to put turnover in, but not to include previous SEISS grants. Do I just deduct previous payments from my turnover or have HMRC done that automatically on my tax return for 20/21. Cheers

5th SEISS turnover - was employed and let out a property
Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows the answer to my question... I am self employed, working in two businesses. I also took an employed job last year (which has ended now) and I let out my house (so I receive rent) My question is whether I need to include my employed income and/or rental income for 2020/21 for the SEISS…

SEISS 5 - other income
During 2020-21 I received £2000 from a previous employer (I used to work for them 10+ yrs ago but I am enrolled in their trust which made the payment) - they deducted tax and NIC at source Do I include this in 2020-21 turnover? This has nothing to do with my trading company

SEISS and tax
I'm just checking I've got this clear in my head, if someone can tell me either way! I've searched the forums but haven't found a clear one-stop answer. For tax returns 20-21 and 21-22 (and let's hope it goes no further!) there will be 2 separate boxes, one for actual worked-for-it turnover and one for all the SEISS grants…

Tax Relief Query (Working from home 2021-2022 pandemic tax year)
I work from home, and would be regardless of covid as my company has no office. I started working April 2021, and I gather from here: https://blog.moneysavingexpert.com/2020/04/martin-lewis--working-from-home-due-to-coronavirus--claim-p6-wk-/ That this means I can claim the whole years tax relief. I went to the government…

£6 a day to the bill payer?
My son works from home. I pay the bills. Does he still need to claim himself and supposedly pay me? I can tell you now , he might consider deducting that from the little bit he gives me. Yep , one of those kids with their head in the clouds.

Can a Childminder charge fees when the child is on PCR (Covid Test) waiting time?
My grandchildren go to a childminder. Both children have had to have a PCR Test. Both children have therefor been at home with me awaiting the results. The Childminder is still charging my daughter the full fees for the time awaiting results. Can she do this? I was under the impression that the Government would pay the…

Hi, Kind of looking for someone who’s already applied for the seiss 5 I know on previous seiss grants they took upto 4 years combined and averaged that out. for seiss 5 did they take your reference year 19/20 and average that out by 12 months to work out how much you get? Or did they combine for 4 years again?

Camping trip
Asking for a friend. A friend of mine is down near me on a camping trip on a proper camp site, but their app has pinged asking them to self isolate for 9 days, yet they are due to leave the site on Saturday. How can they self isolate if they are due to drive home half way through the self isolation period? I was due to…

SEISS 5th Grant Criteria
I am a self employed and I work at Heathrow airport as a consultant. The airport was closed since the first lockdown and hence I had not worked since then. SEISS turnover instructions seem contradictory
There appears to be a MAJOR discrepancy in the instructions just issued via the YouTube video from HMRC this afternoon in the link "new turnover test" Page 15 confirms exactly what was in the SEISS guidance on the GOV.UK website - turnover for the 12 months starting between 1 April and 6th April 2020 (which will normally…

SEISS Claim Question 'do you intend to keep trading in 2021 to 2022'
One of the questions in the 4 SEISS claim forms was 'do you intend to keep trading in 2021 to 2022' My honest answer on all four claims was 'yes'. However, my sole-trader work had now trickled to nothing and I feel I will have to take a PAYE job. Am I likely to be penalised? My intention was always to keep trading but…
