Hello, I've been trying to get my covid recovery pass for 3 months now. The NHS App only says, "No Covid 19 Records Found", where it should display the recovery pass QR code. I've spoken to 119 who pass me around all the depts who all contridict each other. My GP surgery have tried help too as have NHS digital and they are suggesting that as it was a work PCR test that they view it as a private test so they won't go into the NHS app!. That is ridiculous and wrong but I've virtually given up trying to get this pass now after this private test revelation!
My question is, can I travel abroad still even without the pass? I have proof of covid test positive notification, I have emails and texts from test and trace telling me to self isolate and leave isolation. I also have a GP fit note signing me off work because of covid. This is all proof of a covid 19 infection and recovery. I just haven't got the NHS recovery pass to show them as the NHS app is useless, otherwise I'd have the pass in it.
For example, entry requirement of one place I could go in the EU where they use the EU app to prove these things - the fit note ticks the things below mostly...
Proof of recovery - recovery certificates
A non-Digital COVID Certificate ‘proof of recovery’ means a record or evidence in written or electronic form in English or Irish or an official translation into Irish or English which contains the following:
- name TICK
- date of birth TICK
- disease from which holder has recovered TICK (covid)
- date of holder’s first positive NAAT test result I have proof of that from the NHS and my work test results
- Member State or third country in which test was carried out ENGLAND
- certificate issuer do they mean the NHS recovery pass?
- dates the certificate is valid from and valid until (not more than 180 days after the date of first positive NAAT test result) do they mean the NHS recovery pass?
This needs to be declared that you have evidence of covid 19 recovery in the passenger locator form for Ireland, but what I don't know is if you have to upload your recovery pass in it or just have the evidence to show if challenged. Has anyone tried going to Ireland or anywhere else with or without a recovery pass?

You can pay a private GP for a Covid recovery certificate that meets the criteria accepted by other countries for travel.
If you don’t travel often it will be cheaper just to pay for the pre- entry test required by the destination country.
Even if your Covid Pass was showing your recovery from prior COVID infection , you would not be able to use it when you return to U.K. So if you are not fully vaccinated you are still required to quarantine for 10 days and take the day 2&8 tests.
“Proof of recovery from prior COVID-19 infection is also shown – however, this cannot be used as evidence of your COVID-19 status when entering England.”

If your infection was 3 months ago, it would be least hassle for you just to get the tests for entry.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. After 3 months it's possible to get reinfected with Covid. No guarantees of immunity.0

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/nhs-covid-passThanks for that reply. Well, seeing as I have until about April until the 180 day recovery pass will expire, and I am likely to only travel abroad once or twice in this period it seems like a private GP fee for what is effectively a 3 month recovery pass will be quite expensive compared to taking the pre entry tests.I've learnt my lesson though. I'm never going to take a work covid test again and I will go straight to an NHS testing site if I feel ill again. With any luck I will get covid again and my recovery pass will appear this time and will be usable for 180 days. Still, a shambles from the government though.

I've just looked online for private recovery certs from a private GP and they are about £85. It's complete con and money making scam. £85 for a piece of paper, which only confirms I had covid and they are getting that from the NHS records of my positive test anyway are they not? If so then why can't the NHS give me my recovery pass?

An NHS test would lead to an NHS recovery certificate.
