Hi Was wondering if someone can helpme please I currently have an overdraft of £2200 on the Halifax Current Account, this is the only debt I have had and unfortunately for me was due to a previous relationship where I was silly enough to think that I would have been giving the money used back to me, this obviously hasn't…

Complaint advice
A couple of months ago I was very upset at having my time wasted by a High St bank and the attitude shown by their staff. I sent a letter of complaint by email to their customer relations dept. I felt that at the very least a full letter of apology was called for and probably a gesture of compensation. After two weeks I…

£35 Fee / Crippling Monthly Interest
Hi. I have a current account with Halifax. It was originally a student current account from when I was at university, and as a result of that I have a £1,600 overdraft facility. That was used to the hilt when I was a student, and consequently it hasn't been reduced/repaid since. The overdraft was interest free until 12…

Tesco & Visa Electron...
For quite a while now, people with Visa Electron cards could put up to £60 worth of fuel into their cars provided they had at least a pound in their account. If you choose the "pay at pump" option on the actual pump, it checked your account to ensure you had funds in there but would then authorise you to go ahead and fill…

Credit score rating
I've got an current account with HSBC which I've had for several years now. I went to the bank to close this account as I never use it anymore since I've opened a new one elsewhere. I was told that if I closed this account, it may affect my credit rating and was told to carry out a little activity now and which would help…

Halifax High Interest Current Account
I signed up for this account about 6 months ago when the interest was 5.12%, I was happy with that rate and opted for it after doing all my research. I just did a quick check and I note that the interest rate is not 2.50%, are they allowed to change the rates just like that without any notification, when I was with smile…

5 Student Overdrafts - road to ruin?!
I'm very canny with money - as a student, I've got to be. After being inspired by stoozing, I've got 4 student bank accounts with interest-free overdrafts which I have maxed out. £3,600 is in a Fixed Rate ISA paying 6.31%, the rest is in a Principality e-Saver. The accounts are as follows: Halifax - £2759 Abbey - £700…
