I received one of those from Natwest a while ago. I also have no idea what to do with it. Having said that I haven't held an account with them since 2005Wow, I got 3 *, when did that happen :j:T:p
It is not illegal to open another persons mail unless you intend to commit fraud - this is frequently incorrectly posted
I live in my head - I find it's safer there:p

Apparently you only need one card reader and it will work with all bank cards - I know for a fact though that you can use RBS card readers for Natwest accounts and vice versa.Anything that I do say, is strictly my opinion

The point of them is to make your account more secure by requiring you to have your card present when you authorise any new transactions/payments online. I think it's an effort to reduce the effectiveness of phishing sites which get people to put in their bank/card details.
As far as I know you only need to use it for various when you're logged into the online banking (or to log in with one bank I believe). When you do something that needs extra authorisation (things mentioned above) you have to put your card into it and enter your pin. The website will give you an 8 digit code which you key into your card reader. It then gives you another 8 digit number which authorises the transaction.
I don't know why it not hooking up to a computer makes them stupid though, that's like saying a calculator is stupid because it doesn't hook up to your question/answer sheet in an exam.0 -
Hiya Littlepinkstars!
Do you mean that the display is blank? Just a thought - I think that when it arrives through the post it has a tiny clear plastic tab that you pull out from the battery cover.
Just a thought...
