Tax Credits Migration to UC
We have received our migration letter. I have some questions which I can't seem to find any definite answers to, if anyone can help? 1) We currently have NHS TC exemption certificates. Am I correct in thinking that these end on the date we apply for UC? But that we won't know if we are eligible for free healthcare until…

Capital disregard: ESA, HB and CTR
I recently had a letter from my local council saying that they'd (over)charged me for 10 years for contributions to the cost of my care, it's around £40K. Originally I thought that I would have to come off my ESA, HB and CTR, but someone suggested to me that the £40K might be disregarded because it was the council's error.…

Universal Credit AET
Sorry might be a silly question - If UC payments are based on net pay for which they get the information from HMRC then how do they know what the gross pay is (to decide which group to put people in above or below AET) as HMRC doesn't show this.

National Insurance credits how much do I need to earn
I work part time and don't pay National Insurance. I think that if I earn over £7,000 but less than £10,000 per year and complete self assessment, I automatically get National Insurance credits and they count toward state pension. So if I earn £7,500 this tax year I will get the credits and won't have to pay to make up for…
