Marriage allowance claim refused because of wrong form

Hi, my husband submitted a marriage allowance claim for several previous years, using the HMRC form MATCF provided online. Today, he received a letter saying his claim has been refused because he had used 'an old form'. We double-checked and he used the 10/23 version which is the only form available via the HMRC webpages. Trying to call HMRC to complain but no success so far. Has anyone else had this issue? Getting very concerned as today is end of tax year and we may lose one of the years the claim is for.

There is another post on the subject https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6598678/marriage-tax-allowance-application-rejected-due-to-form-version-anyone-else#latestThe form has been updated but they obviously failed to change the date printed on the form

This has been queried on the HMRC forum, maybe worth checking what the HMRC response is in the next day or two.

Thanks molerat and dazed_and_confused. I have just replied to the other thread on this issue: I eventually was able to get through to an HMRC advisor today on 0300 200 3300 (35 min wait) and a lady has now processed our claim. She promised she will let her manager know that the MATCF form available via HMRC webpages still says 10/23.1

Hi all.
We've reached out to HMRC and they've confirmed that approximately 3,000 people who applied for Marriage Tax Allowance between 26 March and 4 April were incorrectly sent letters telling them their claims had been rejected.
HMRC says it will now be reaching out to all of those affected to confirm whether or not their claim for Marriage Tax Allowance has been accepted or rejected. Those who incorrectly received rejection letters don't need to do anything - they just need to wait to hear back from HMRC again about their claim.
Thanks,
MSE Kit2
