Marriage allowance claim refused because of wrong form

Hi, my husband submitted a marriage allowance claim for several previous years, using the HMRC form MATCF provided online. Today, he received a letter saying his claim has been refused because he had used 'an old form'. We double-checked and he used the 10/23 version which is the only form available via the HMRC webpages. Trying to call HMRC to complain but no success so far. Has anyone else had this issue? Getting very concerned as today is end of tax year and we may lose one of the years the claim is for.
