Marriage Tax allowance application rejected due to form version - anyone else?

I've just received a response to my postal application for MTA and a backdated payment to say they cannot accept the claim due to being the wrong form version and yet it was printed from the .Gov website. has anyone else had this issue? The wording suggests that I applied online.
I'm a bit irritated as there will be nobody to discuss this with and what if it happens again? I just wondered if anyone else has had the same issue.

Had the same thing happen to me today, rejected marriage allowance claim due to "using old version of the form", although I definitely used the current version linked from their webpage, which has the "nominated agent" stuff that I believe was added in Feb 24. Is it rejected because the form has "10/23" still on its bottom right corner, maybe wasn't updated when they made the new version in 2/24, so it's being mistaken as the "old" form version? I've logged a question on the HMRC forums to ask about it. Very annoying, regardless.1

Ah! I started second guessing myself so as much as I'm annoyed for both of us, I'm glad I'm not going mad. The thing is, how do you prove what you sent? I literally sent in another form (exactly the same) on the day I got the rejection and will be extremely annoyed if I lose out on one years backdating (cut-off) is 5th April I believe). maybe if enough are being rejected, they will notice an issue.1

Hi, we have also had the same issue. The letter says we used the wrong form and should have completed the MATCF form. However, we downloaded the form from the gov.co.uk website and have checked a copy of the form we posted, which was the MATCF form, but like the post above, also has "10/23" on the footer.
We've been back on the gov.co.uk website and the live form still has "10/23" at the bottom. Do we resubmit the same form again and hope it is accepted this time?0 -
Hi there, I just started a new thread about same issue not having seen this one. Same thing happened to us today (end of tax year) - we received a letter from HRMC saying our (backdated) claim has been refused because old form was used. However we used the form provided by the HMRC marriage allowance webpages. I eventually was able to call HMRC on 0300 200 3300 (waiting time: 35 min) and a lady has now processed the claim. She promised she will let her manager know that the MATCF form available via HMRC webpages still says 10/23. What a total shambles.2

Thank you Hope4theFuture. We'll give them a call as soon as possible and hopefully our claim will be accepted too.0

Hi all.
We've reached out to HMRC and they've confirmed that approximately 3,000 people who applied for Marriage Tax Allowance between 26 March and 4 April were incorrectly sent letters telling them their claims had been rejected.
HMRC says it will now be reaching out to all of those affected to confirm whether or not their claim for Marriage Tax Allowance has been accepted or rejected. Those who incorrectly received rejection letters don't need to do anything - they just need to wait to hear back from HMRC again about their claim.
Thanks,
MSE Kit2
